C-6 general purpose machine gun CAMP SOUTER, KABUL, AFGHANISTAN 8 October, 2011 C-6 general purpose machine gun Cpl. Summer Jirjis of the Canadian Contribution Training Mission – Afghanistan (CCTM-A) Maintenance Technical Assistance Visit inspects a C-6 general purpose machine gun at Camp Souter in Kabul. Approximately 50 Canadian Forces support staff serve at Camp Souter as part of the Canadian Forces contribution to the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan. The training mission will see up to 950 Canadian Forces personnel serving at training camps and headquarters locations primarily in the Kabul area. Smaller contingents will serve at training institutions in Mazar-e-Sharif and Herat. The bulk of the Canadian contingent is scheduled to be deployed in Afghanistan by the fall of 2011.
