Post-graduate program
„Interdisciplinary Balkan Studies Vienna“
The post-graduate program “Interdisciplinary Balkan Studies Vienna” has been established by IDM in 2003. The program aims at enhancing and deepening the participants’ capacities to deal with questions of the South East European region that are high on the agenda of European institutions. Its interdisciplinary approach offers an innovative teaching methodology on Balkan issues which is unique in Europe. The goal is to provide a comprehensive overview in several research fields and give the participants the opportunity to develop their specific interests but also to transgress the boundaries of their own disciplines towards a more comprehensive understanding of the region. The faculty consists
of leading experts from various Austrian universities who closely
co-operate with academics from universities of the region as well as with experts from other fields of activity to offer lectures and seminars.
Character of the program: part-time, 1-year certificate course or 2-year graduate program
