Jason Myers - Firefighter / BC31
EXPLORED 7/8/2011
When I first arrived to work with Jason I was gettings my equipment out of my car and setting the items down on the floor in the Fire Station. All the sudden, an alert came across the loud speaker and before I knew it I had several Fireman running to get their gear and jumping into the fire truck. Needless to say I had to quickly gather my things and get out of the firestation so they could get to their emergency destination. This is exactly why I chose to work with our local fire department. The men and woman of our local fire department & police departments put the safety and well being of others often before themselves.
Jason Myers is a second generation Firefighter. After serving six total years as a United States Marine (including one tour in Iraq) Jason followed in his fathers footsteps and became a Fireman.
Jason has been proudly serving the community of Sterling Heights for the past four and a half years. Beyond his duties as a firefighter Jason is also an EMT Instructor for Baker College.
I wanted to work with an individual from our local fire department. When I introduced myself and our project Jason was happy to volunteer and tell me a little about himself. Jason was great, he was very accommodating and eager to help anyway he could. Thank you Jason, it was a pleasure working with you.

The "studio" consisted of a lightly converted office. A white backdrop was placed in front of a book case, where there was enough space between a pair of desks to have three people stand side-by-side. The lighting equipment was worked into place in, around and under the desks and chairs. One picture frame and a small stack of books were the only things moved significantly: a couple of chairs were rolled a few inches.
An Alien Bees 800 on a boom near the ceiling through a socked Buff 22-inch beauty dish, about 7 o'clock, and another AB 800 through a Westcott Apollo 28x28 softbox, about 4 o'clock, provide the main lighting.
Lumopro 160s, on the floor, under desks, at about 3 and 9'oclock, through a Honl Traveller 8 and Lumiquest softbox III respectively, lit the backdrop.
