Charles Hotel
The Charles Hotel is an odd little place. Must have been a pretty happenin' little spot at one point in its history. The rooms are small, and there is the feeling that this is a blue collar hotel, that this place was built for loggers or miners or highway or survey workers when they were not in camp. It's run by an Asian family who are very friendly, though their son seems to know all of the English, and they have a little cafe and Chinese food restaurant.
Glen and I mostly ate elsewhere.
The real cool thing about the place, aside from the fact that there's no cell phone reception there, is that the local kids hang out in front of the place late at night with their laptops, communicating with the world outside of Boston Bar. I found that charming -- like something a modern, Canadian Norman Rockwell could paint.
Charles, Hotel and Reflection
Charles bumped into someone that he knew. I captured him in mid laugh with the reflection of the Wasatch Mountains behind him. If you look closely you can see the hotel lights within the reflection.
