My thought was I'd find some Siberian squill, or maybe crocus or snowdrops... but I really didn't expect to find anything. I completely forgot about the witch-hazel. I know this particular one blooms early, but I'd totally forgotten about them until I came across them today, unfurling their petals like party favors, as if celebrating the February sunshine.
