Lovely Lower Robin Lake
You can see why Robin Lakes are compared to the Enchantment Lake area (mini version). They are surrounded by bright white smoothed granite and rugged mountain slopes (Granite Mountain). This is looking east down at all of Lower Robin and a little portion of Upper Robin Lake can be seen left of photo.
These photo are on my day pack hike up to Robin Lakes and along the northwest ridge above them, Sunday afternoon 9.20.09. It is about one mile and about a one hour "haul" up from Tuck Lake to Lower Robin Lake.
Left Hyas Lake/Deception Pass trailhead at 11 am Sunday 9.20.09.
Arrived at Tuck Lake 1:45 PM. Set up tent; ate late lunch, took photos, organized camp. 3 pm - set off on day hike up to Robin Lakes and the ridge running toward Trico Mountain. Returned to Tuck Lake camp Sunday evening; filtered water; ate dinner and spent the night at Tuck Lake (no other backpackers camped there).
Got up at 6:30 am on Monday morning 6.21.09; took sunrise photos, ate a bite, packed up. Left tuck Lake at 8 am. Arrived back at Hyas Lake trailhead at around 11:30 am. Drove home.
Packer Crossing Stream at Lower Pioneer Lake
This photo won honorable mention, Pictorial (Basic level), Berkeley Camera Club, 10/5/11.
N.B. See my profile for usage guidelines.
We crossed this outlet stream of the misnamed "Mud Lake", the lowest lake in Pioneer Basin, to arrive at our second camp. The packer in this photo was not part of our group but another one from the Rock Creek Pack Station.
