Help - how to quilt?
I need to straight line quilt this quilt because my machine has been acting up when I FMQ (skipping stitches and breaking threads every ~12" inches) and I don't have time to take it in before this quilt is due.
The only ideas I can come up with to quilt this would require burying a several dozen threads in the end. I don't mind burying a set of threads per airplane block, but would prefer not to do more than that.
So, with limitations of straight-line only, what would you do? (I'm thinking outline the planes, but aside from that not sure what else that wouldn't require burying lots of threads).
Or if my machine happens to start behaving, what would you do if you could FMQ? I was thinking outline the planes then meander all around them and do straight line in the borders.
FYI: I've done all of the adjustments on my machine that I can think of to try and fix it on my own -- cleaned it thoroughly (including under the bobbin casing), changed needle/thread/bobbin, re-threaded, adjusted tension, feeddogs up, feeddogs down. I think it's time for a service call.

On our way to Bloemfontein for the Methodist Ordination service
On Monday I start about 7 weeks of international travel (England, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Kenya) - however, this weekend I was asked to be a Presbyter for two of my past students at their Ordination service. I couldn't get an affordable flight to Bloem so I decided to drive.
Since I'll be away for so long my darling daughter Courtney decided to take the 'road trip' with her dad! How cool is that!? Here we are in the car in du Toit's Kloof.
