Traffic pattern: left left Runway heading: 006 magnetic, 351 true 186 magnetic, 171 true Displaced threshold: 225 ft. no Declared distances: TORA:3611 TODA:3611 ASDA:3611 LDA:3386 TORA:3611 TODA:3611 ASDA:3386 LDA:3386 Markings: nonprecision, in good condition basic, in good condition Visual slope indicator: 4-light PAPI on right (3.50 degrees glide path) 4-light PAPI on right (3.00 degrees glide path) Touchdown point: yes, no lights yes, no lights Obstructions: 19 ft. tree, 575 ft. from runway, 75 ft. right of centerline, 20:1 slope to clear 18:1 TO DISPLACED THLD. 50 ft. trees, 1 savannah airport {back in my walking life we helped landscaper michele (still a dear friend) put 4 of those large trees in the airport lobby, starting w/the huge pots then planting the trees. it was a good time being sweaty and dirty while travellers passed by.) {dans ma vie de marche nous avons aide la paysagiste michele (encore une chere amie) a mettre 4 de ces grands arbres dans l'entree d'aeroport, mettant en marche les pots enormes et plantant alors les arbres. c'etait un bon temps etant en sueur et sale tandis que les voyageurs passaient pres.) patsy (my morning aide) and i went to pick up Anne at the airport for her annual spring visit on thurs the 26th. she comes here for our spring, then returns to plattsburgh (6hrs north of n.y.c) and waits a couple weeks for her 2nd spring. a few times she's gone home to a snow storm. her flight arrived at 12;14, but no sign of mum for quite a while. while waiting we snacked on a hot dog from the nathan's resto at the airport. it was hard to save some for mum; mm mmm good. we went looking around. patsy eventually stood guard at the van, in case mum slipped by me. i eventually went to the us airways booth... they informed me that she was scheduled to arrive the next day. i had just checked the ticket info for the flight # and arrival time before leaving my house, but not the date; silly me, i was sure it was thurs. well, that was a fun hour at the airport. actually, i was relieved, i hadn't had the time to fully prepare for her arrival, and the past days had been all around hectic. i went home with no big plans, therefore time to catch my breath. allen (another aide) and i went the next day. there she arrived, right on time. she looked very good, and slimmer than i'd seen her in a few years. well, to fix that, we sat down for another nathan's hot dog and rings. she only came w/a carry on bag this year; she usually has a box loaded w/north country goodies, mainly many bottles of maple syrup a dear family friend brews up each year. she told me that she had packed 8 bottles in her carry-on. yup, they confiscated them when she checked in; no liquids allowed. she was ticked at the screeners, who all went home w/some fine syrup that day. yup, good thing they stopped 'the maple syrup bomber'! patsy(mon aide du matin) et moi sommes alles a aeroport pour trouver Anne pour son visite annuelle le jeudi le 26 de mars. elle vient ici pour notre printemps, puis retour a plattsburgh (6hrs au nord de new york city) et attentes des semaines pour son 2eme printemps. plusieurs fois elle est rentrer chez elle a une tempete de neige. son vol est arrive a 12:14, mais aucun signe de maman pendant un loonge temps. tout en attendant nous avons manger un hot-dog du resto des nathan a l'aeroport. il etait difficile de en sauver un peu pour maman. nous sommes alles regarder autour. patsy a par la suite tenu la garde au fourgon, au cas ou la maman glissait par moi. je suis par la suite alle a la poste de la companie aerienne donc elle a utilisee… ils m'ont informe qu'elle a ete programmee pour arriver le jour suivant. j'avais juste examine l'information de billet pour assurer le vol # et le temps d'arrivee avant de partir de ma maison, mais pas la date ; j'etais sur que c'etait pour jeudi. c'etait une heure d'amusement a l'aeroport. reellement, j'ai ete soulage, je n'avais pas le temps me preparer entierement a son arrivee, et les jours passes avaient ete tout autour d'agite. je suis alle a la maison sans de grands plans, donc du temps d'attraper mon souffle allen (un autre aide) et moi sont allee le jour suivant. elle est arrivee a l'heure. elle avait bonne mine, et plus mince que je vu lui en quelques annees. pour fixer cela, nous nous sommes assiss pour le hot-dog et les anneaux d'oignons chez le resto de nathan. elle est seulement venue avec une vallise de main cette annee ; elle a habituellement des sucreries de chez elle dans une boite extra, principalement beaucoup de bouteilles de sirop d'erable. elle m'a dit qu'elle avait emballe 8 bouteilles dans son porter-sur vallise. oui, ils les ont confisquees quand elle a signe a bord l'avion ; le liquide n'a pas passer. elle a ete facher aux gens d'aeroport, qui toute est allee a la maison avec du sacree sirop. oui, bonne chose ils ont arrete 'le bombardier de sirop de erable '!
