Very Tyred! This shot sums up my weekend quite well I think. I'd had a long weekend (Saturday - Tuesday) and for a change I was blessed with amazingly good hot weather on each of the four days!! Saturday was summed up in the shots of my previous uploads from the Southside Festival in Glasgow, and then a lazy afternoon in the park with friends. Sunday: I was up early for a charity bikeride to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The route was just outside of Glasgow and again the weather was warm. An hour and a half later, the 26 miles (41km) were complete and I'd helped to raise just over ?100 towards the event's total. :) After that, I went and played football in the afternoon with some friends and had a barbecue in the evening to unwind. Monday: Decided that as the weather had stayed sunny (it wasn't meant to), I would get on the bike again and cycle south to visit my parents (83miles/133km). The ride was quite smooth and I'd a number of times I wished I'd brought a camera with me, as you notice a lot more things when cycling along the road than you do when you're driving (or even the passenger) in a car. The whole ride took 5hrs 30, and was actually a lot easier than I thought it'd be - particularly after being in the saddle the day before too! Tuesday: Got up, cycled to the train station to 'cheat' back up to Glasgow (I know my limits!! Haha), then when I got there decided to go hill-walking/running in the afternoon/evening. Finally getting to the top of Ben Arthur by about 5 o'clock, before heading back down for a quiet evening. Wednesday: Fatigue and back to work!! Really feel good for making the most of my time off though - I'm so used to looking back on days off, feeling that I've wasted them doing nothing. :) Congratulations for making it through the rambling description, if you had the patience! :D the blue one 2007 Motobecane Messenger Ultegra Crankset FC6600 TruVativ 48t chainring Forumla High Flange Hubs Mavic CXP22 Rims Shimano Dura Ace 16t Cog 1/8" Easton EA50 seatpost Selle italia flite saddle Salsa Motoace short & shallow bar Shimano 105 brakes Tekro R200a ergo brake levers Izumi standard track chain 1/8" Hutchenson equinox tires 700x23 Similar posts: bike shop insurance schwinn tandem bicycles bike commuting to work garda mountain bike bicycle tyre pressure online bike shops usa 16 inch girls bicycle mini cycle exercise bike master lock bicycle lock |

Well, the dirt bike can have no more than 5 inches of suspension travel :) That van was drafty and cold in the winter, but it had a Holley 2 barrel carb, and it could climb the Cascade mountains at 65 mph! NAGRA IV-S [NQS-TC (Time Code)] Sync Sound Field Audio Recorder The NAGRA IV-S can be delivered in three different versions, all of which are available in either NAB or CCIR equalization. These versions are: NQS-LSP (Non Pilot), NQS-L (Pilot), and NQS-TC (Time Code). Each version has three speeds: 38 cm/s (15 ips), 19 cm/s (7 1/2 ips), and 9.5 cm/s ( 3 3/4 ips) with the following standards: NAB, CCIR, and the NAGRAMASTER (at 15 ips only). The NAGRA IV-S is a stereo recorder with 2 mm audio tracks (2.75 mm tracks on the NQS-LSP non-pilot machines) and a central track for pilot or time code uses, depending on the machine type. The two audio channels may be used with either the internal microphone pre-amplifiers (switchable between Dynamic, T power, and Phantom power), or with a current line input via the QCSE cable. The two potentiometers on the front panel may be mechanically "GANGED" together for easier control by moving the small white lever located on the green control. The NAGRA IV-S also contains a switchable limiter, a built-in loudspeaker, provision for connection to an external noise reduction system, and an internal reference generator for line up, and calibration purposes. The machine can be fitted with either the NAGRASYNC pilot option or the SMPTE/EBU 80 bit time code option. The machine may also be powered from either an external supply (ATN-3) or internal batteries. The IV-S may also be used with the QGB 10" reel adapter to allow the use of larger reels for longer recording and playback. * Tape transport speeds 38 cm/s (15 ips), 19 cm/s (7 1/2 ips), and 9.5 cm/s (3 3/4 ips) accuracy are governed by a closed loop servo system (PLL quartz Xtal sync reference). ** Film sync sound resolving (speed variations) are governed by the Pilot track (in NQS-L), or TC track in (NQS-TC model) via appropriate accessory units. Doppelganger Effect Doppelganger Effect, the debut non-fiction novel by gravity sports writer, Johnathon Allen, traces the origins of extreme sports by following the (mostly true) story of one person's search for identity through the pursuit of mountain biking, skiing, and bungee jumping as he attempts to solve the mystery of his past. Joey doesn't know his real name, his parents, or the source of his true origins. Compounding this identity crisis is the fact everywhere he goes, people think he's someone else. He is the epitome of a generation that has been cut free from the past into an unknown and potentially hazardous future with no map or compass; the first and only American generation to come of age without facing a major war; the generation they call X. Doppelganger Effect is the debut non-fiction novel of gravity sports writer/photographer, Johnathon Allen--whose stories have appeared in BIKE, Mountain Bike Magazine, Outside, Wend, and other publications. Group Shot--The Heights Mountain Bike Company We went with four heavy-duty vans and pick-ups as back-up. Our supplies neatly stowed away. High energy food, sophisticated survival gear, satelite phone, cell phones, long-distant two way walkie-talkies--all made our crossing safe and secure. Quite a contrast from those early pioneers who crossed with little more than the clothes on their backs. But, even with all the security of gear, food and protection we gained a greater insight into the hearts and minds of those who went before. thebigwild.org thebigwild.org As part of the launch of 'The Big Wild' initiative, a group of self propelled outdoor enthusiasts came to head office in full outdoor gear to promote the protection of Canada's wild spaces. 36 - 365 I love this bike! I see it whenever I walk past the bike shop at North Sydney. I have wanted it for about a year now - or one just like it. But with an $800 price tag for the 'basic' model .. I think I can do without for a while! I want a pink cruiser so bad. I might have to do a bit of bargain hunting. hehe. I'm in Sydney tonight. This rain is starting to get to me but I know we need it. I wish the bushfires got more of it... it's pretty bad. I donated to vicrspca. I feel so bad for all the animals that were hurt/killed. =[ day 49 after a bike ride...it's friday, so put your feet up and take a break! yay! it is friday...me and my lovey went on a quick twirl around the town after i got home from work. it started to rain, too. sort of cool and yes, i have a pink cruiser...got it as a wedding gift from the man. i may have to do another with some lomo... happy friday, everyone!! IMG 7758.JPG Tonight I developed a new home mechanic workstand. Open the spice drawer (could be the silverware drawer) and place the bike's top tube on it. Begin work! This was not ideal obviously, but probably the best work-around I've come up with without flipping the bike or of course having an actual repair stand. Ducati (Red) (1) Lovely Scalextric model of a Moto GP Ducati no.12. These Moto GP Bikes are pretty interesting on the track, you certianly need your wits about you to take the corners at any sort of speed! I really like racing with them, you have to be quite cautious and they need a lot of respect. Good old fashioned racing as far as I'm concerned! But my dad, who used to work in a model shop said lots of people used to whinge about them, so they were never too popular. Shame, as they are very nice models. Ducati 996SPS This is a limited production "race only" bike from Ducati. This was known as the SPS version of the 996 for track use only. It could not be registered for street use. I have been told only 50 saw port in the USA. This particular bike has 0 miles on it. It was started in Italy and that was it. This is number 1328 in the production lot. comfort i usually don't upload this late, because then i don't get to talk to people, but i probably won't be here for most of tomorrow. so i thought i would just check in here :) this weekend was really really good for me. i am really happy about it. i was really dreading this whole weekend, i thought it was going to be torture. but it was better than a lot that i have had. Saturday i worked, and my old friend jess came to pick me up with her mom and brother, and i haven't seen her mom in over a year, and it was great to be "reunited" with that family again. it was something i needed i think. we played rock band and i finally got to see the rocky horror picture show :D which was completely not what i expected, and it was so insane. i really liked it AHAHA, but i really want to go see it live omfg. then we woke up early and had cinnamon buns and all that good stuff :) and today i worked, and my good friend evelyn came and picked me up (and the greek wasn't even late!@!!#^!) and we went out to eat at T.G.I. Fridays (my favvvvorite restaurant evereverz). then we went to her cousin's house and played wii :D that kid has every game system and game ever omfg seriously. then we went to my friend cassie's house and met up with some girl kristen and we watched seasons of sex and the city until it was too late. what a girl thing to do, wth. ahaha. and tomorrow i am waking up super early to go to philly, and i am picking up evelyn and taking her there with me :D:D it's going to be crazy after the game today omg. but i am going to the art institute of philadelphia tomorrrow and i am nervous. well kind of. more like, stressed. i am not sure yet. i am just glad i won't be alone. and i am glad i didn't spend the weekend alone. i probably would have freaked out and gave myself more nosebleeds AHAHA. this is long and i don't expect anybody to read more than the first sentence. that is okay. oh and btw i still love and miss you all :D 1974 Yesterday my Grandpa David died. He was 94 years old and my sole surviving grandparent. He was born in NYC and later moved to Michigan where he owned a sporting goods store and a bowling alley in the city of Jackson. This is also where my own dad learned to strike down 300 pins, became an all-state basketball player, and I suppose, picked up his love for small British sports cars (see background). But what may have brought my grandfather his greatest happiness was his wife of more than 50 years.... my Grandma Mary who passed away in 1989. I'm comforted to know that they are together again. Thank you Grandpa for everything -- including making my dad just as wonderful as you. The back of the photograph reads: "John, Halley (my cousin), Grandpa. Grandpa assembled Halley's new bike."
