At BART Station... It's kind of cool having a small camera with f2.8 at 28mm, that performs reasonably well in low light, and have full manual control. I been waiting to get the Sigma DP-1, since hearing about it, but given up after so much waiting, and found that there is still more waiting to be have.... It's better for me that way, the DP-1 would probably cost just as much as a budget Canon Rebel. This only cost me $260. The only thing I kind of wish for, is probably a way to shut-off the live-view on the LCD, and have a cheap looking view-finder so I can frame my shoots the old fashion way instead. Been wondering if I dare to use this for a paper assignment... I mean, this little thing got more mega pixels than both of my dSLRs, it's ridicules. Had a short conversation with another photographer this last week on the street, he was surprised that I am shooting for a paper with a 6 Mp 10D that's 5 years old. Try to tell him pixels don't amount to much shit in a lot of ways... but don't think it sinked in, and I have better thing to do to argue about it anyway. After a few weeks of shooting the Mark II at my last internship, even its full res. 8MP is too much data for my Mac to process, and way to big to file those picture remotely. I switched back to shooting at the 6MP. Think 6 mega pixels is a plenty for newspapers or maybe even magazines, with the exception of Playboy centerfolds, maybe. So, yes... I will probably going to bring this P&S to an assignment.
