Spinner One of the wheel spinners on the Scarab. One of the hallmarks of the Reventlow cars was their attention to details and the no-cost-spared quality of the things. They were handmade and used only the best materials and parts. As befitted a car built in southern California, the Scarab used the now classic Halibrand "kidney bean" wheels, in this case with center lock spinners. Note how worn the spinner is-the Halibrand lettering is almost worn away, the ears are nicked from being hit with hammers, they're just generally worn. I think they're the originals. Devin SS SR 4-1 - 1958 Coronado SpeedWeek, 2009. Restored 2004. One of sixteen. Built in 1957 - 1958; raced 1958 to 1960. Small block Chevy engine is set back and offset. Race prepared Corvette 331 ci. with Hilborn injection. Wheels are Halibrand aluminum. Halon fire system nd 12 gal. fuel cell.
