Referring to a sliding hitch used on short bed trucks for enabling them to tow fifth wheels, allowing them sufficient clearance to jack-knife the trailer.

A special hitch used for fifth-wheel trailers, to keep the trailer from bumping into the truck’s cab.

A 5th wheel hitch used with short wheel base pickup trucks. With short wheel base trucks the front of the 5th wheel trailer can make contact with the cab of the truck when turning to sharp. A slider hitch has two positions.

While scoping shorebirds at the flats, I frequently see sliders and painted turtles hitching a ride on the backs of these giants lumbering through the shallow water.
