50cc 2 Stroke Dirt Bikes : Bicycle Light Combo : Mountain Bikes Dealers
50cc 2 Stroke Dirt Bikes
- A motorcycle designed for use on rough terrain, such as unsurfaced roads or tracks, and used esp. in scrambling
- (dirt bike) trail bike: a lightweight motorcycle equipped with rugged tires and suspension; an off-road motorcycle designed for riding cross country or over unpaved ground
- There are many systems for classifying types of motorcycles, describing how the motorcycles are put to use, or the designer's intent, or some combination of the two. Six main categories are widely recognized: cruiser, sport, touring, standard, dual-purpose, and dirt bike.
- (Dirt Bike) off road bike; not street legal.
- A two-stroke engine is an internal combustion engine that completes the thermodynamic cycle in two movements of the piston (compared to twice that number for a four-stroke engine).
- The 50 cc class was the ultra-lightweight class in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, and formed part of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) World Championships from 1962 until 1983; when the class was replaced by 80 cc.
Steven & Dirtbike
This is my nephew Steven and he's 5. This is their little 2 stroke 50cc dirt bike. They have been riding dirt bikes and four wheelers since they were 3!
They also have a small four wheeler and two go carts.
It's fun to watch them, they actually go pretty fast! It's also cool because I grew up at this same house/property. My brother bought it from my parents when my dad retired. So it's kind of like watching my brothers and I when we were little. It's nice living in the country with a lot of land!

Quad Bike
Cerys and Jacob sussing out their new bike. It's a replacement for their old one which was battery operated and good actually, but this one will last longer and is the next step up for them.
Beach time when they get new helmets. I'm not really going to trust their bike ones. It also has a safety feature to cut the bike off if they fall off, so it won't injure them by staying running.
Old Bike in Youngs Point
quite possibly an old JC Higgins made for and sold by Sears Roebuck, the ornate metal pieces on the top bar are the housing for a battery operated light, you can barely see the white reflective glass at the front of the white metal behind the wicker basket.

I bought this bike off of Craigs List tonight. I am going to convert it to a single speed fixed gear bike. It is a "1979 Concord Selecta 12 - Freedom Deluxe". Check out the rotting gumwalls and cool mirror! The foam grips are hard as a rock! I wish ya all can see this bike the way I see it in my mind. It's gonna be a process....

BICYCLE PEDAL CLEATS : PEDAL CLEATS
BICYCLE PEDAL CLEATS : THREE WHEELED ADULT BIKES
Bicycle Pedal Cleats
- A bicycle pedal is the part of a bicycle that the rider pushes with his or her foot to propel the bicycle. It provides the connection between the cyclist's foot or shoe and the crank allowing the leg to turn the bottom bracket axle.
- (cleat) a metal or leather projection (as from the sole of a shoe); prevents slipping
- One of a number of projecting pieces of metal, rubber, or other material on the sole of a shoe, designed to prevent the wearer from losing their footing
- shoes with leather or metal projections on the soles; "the football players all wore cleats"
- (cleat) provide with cleats; "cleat running shoes for better traction"
- Athletic shoes with a cleated sole, typically used when playing football
- A T-shaped piece of metal or wood, esp. on a boat or ship, to which ropes are attached
Toe strap
A relic from my bicycling days. Cyclists used these to hold their bike shoes against their pedals, which allowed more powerful and efficient riding. Forgetting to loosen the strap before stopping was always fun; a friend once stopped at a street crossing while standing on the pedals, couldn't put a foot down, and did a turtle roll into the intersection. Those were the days....
Toe straps, and toe clips too, were made obsolete by clipless pedals, an idea borrowed from the sport of skiing. The shoes attach to the pedals via cleats on the bottom of the shoes.
I have a couple of these things still, and use them as part of a homemade tripod mount adapter for shooting panoramas. I need this because my tripod head won't flip all the way up to a right angle to the ground, and the shots end up slanted, which makes for slanted panos. The adapter fixes all that mess.

Macro Monday -- theme: favorite shoes
If you recognize what that is, you probably own lycra shorts.
That it's an old cleat for my Look road bicycle pedals. It's mounted on my VERY old, well used, Marresi road shoes...over 25 years old. The Look pedals are on my road bike, a 33 year old Carlsbad MASI with full Campanolo drivetrain, including alloy Campy freewheel.
Before the Look pedals, I had Cinelli quick-release pedals...and I'm not talking about the rat-trap style. Anybody remember Cinellis?

- A type of off-season bicycle racing (usually held October through January) around a loop course, which includes natural and man-made obstacles that force dismounting and running while carrying the bike. It was invented in Europe to keep racers fit through the winter.
- Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, CCX, cyclo-X or 'cross') is a form of bicycle racing. Races take place typically in the autumn and winter (the international or "World Cup" season is September–January), and consists of many laps of a short (2.5-3.5 km or 1.
Cyclocross
Cyclocross is a fun and challenging mix of road and off-road racing on a closed circuit with obstacles such as sandtraps, berms, and barriers. Countless cyclists are discovering one of Europe’s favorite autumn pastimes to be much more than off-season training. From Simon Burney, the expert on cyclocross racing and training, comes a fully updated and expanded edition, exploring every aspect of this increasingly popular sport.
Cyclocross track - steep hill
cyclocross riders ride a winding path all the way around a velodrome, leaping out of their saddles to carry their bikes over obstructions or, as seen here, up incredibly steep hills.

My new single-speed conversion - Not a Colnago
Built this bike from an early 90s Concorde frame bought from londonfgss after my previous frame cracked. The Concorde frame came with a Colnago decal transfer which I have not bothered removing. Managed to reuse most of the components off my previous bike apart from a new bottom bracket (italian thread - loctite job!), a pair of new modern brakes and a fatter seat post. Frame not as light as I had expected it to be, but pretty comfy!
Project 365 - Day 105 - "Single Speed"
6/13/07
Since I bought a new mountain bike back in April I've decided to turn my old one into a single speed. The frame and components are over 12 years old and have been to hell and back.
I'm going to use it as a "grocery-getter" bike to tool around town on. After just two rides, I definitely have to say single speed bikes are a lot of fun to ride.

- any creature of exceptional size
- elephantine: of great mass; huge and bulky; "a jumbo jet"; "jumbo shrimp"

My old racing bike has been getting a lot of use again. I decided not to get a new bike until I can show that I can get back into some kind of shape.

Lejeune Rochet randonneur 1957
Bought from its original owner who got it for his first degree at school. He used it for a few years before he could drive and afford a car. As he wasn't a bicycle enthusiast, he moved it at the back of his garage where it sat for the next 40 years ! Despite the Lejeune brand, it's a Rochet, the two companies merged in the 60's. The luggage racks are typical from Rochet and the pedals bear that name.
1953 Elswick Assembled in ERIE
These photos are of a brand new 1953 Elswick Roadster I kid you not I bought it today from a dealer who had it in a shed along with lots of other junk and vintage bicycle parts, he got them from a warehouse clearance in the Republic of Ireland some years back, it has been stored in wet conditions and has suffered because of that. The Serial Number is D-115 that would date it to 1953, I will be restoring this machine over the next few weeks and will add some photos of the on going restoration.

Pedaling for PTSD 824
Two North Dakota National Guard Soldiers, Spc. Dan Olson and Spc. Nick Folkedahl, are "Pedaling for PTSD." The Guardsmen are members of the North Dakota American Legion and are pedaling their bikes from the western edge of North Dakota along Highway 2 to Grand Forks, and then back west from Fargo to Dickinson. The Legion's veteran service officer, Jim Deremo, is following the Soldiers with this support trailer. They took a break over July 4 and rode their bikes in an Independence Day parade in Park River, N.D. The Soldiers say it's important for them to volunteer their time for a cause that encourages veterans to have the courage to ask for help if they're battling symptoms of PTSD, something they've intimately seen the effects of. This is Olson's second year raising awareness through the cause. The two-time Iraq War veteran will deploy later this summer with the 188th Engineer Company. (Photo by Staff Sgt. Amy Wieser Willson)

PIT BIKES FOR KIDS. PIT BIKES
Pit Bikes For Kids. Free 3d Bike Games.
Pit Bikes For Kids
- (Pit bike) A pit bike is a small off-road motorcycle originally used for riding around the pits or staging area of a motocross race. Since the early 2000s pit bike racing, a sport similar to motocross, has become popular in the United States, especially in Southern California.
- The Sport Ju-Jutsu system for kids is designed to stimulate movement and to encourage the kids natural joy of moving their bodies. The kids train all exercises from Sport Ju-Jutsu but many academys leave out punches and kicks for their youngest athlethes.
- 4Kids Entertainment (commonly known as 4Kids) is a Worldwide International American film and television production company. It is known for English-dubbing Japanese anime, specializing in the acquisition, production and licensing of children's entertainment around the United States.
The Kids who can do anything
This past week, I spent the week in Denver, CO, shooting for the National Veteran Wheelchair Games: a gathering of about 800 wheelchair athletes, making it the biggest annual wheelchair games in the world. They play games like table tennis and nine ball, but also games like rugby (where 500lbs wheelchairs get beat up) and basketball (which is actually faster than NBA basketball games. Wheelchairs DO get up to speeds of that of a bike :P). Its amazing. There's also a thing called Slalom: an obstacle course filled with everyday challenges like stairs, doors, and sand pits. The best part of the games, though, is Kids Day. Its where kids around the area come together to meet with the veterans and learn that being in a chair really doesn't mean anything; that they can still do 99.9% of what an "able-bodied" person can do. I went last year, but I felt this year was even more inspiring though :)
More to come later from the games
Zack's new bike!
2003 Yamaha YZF-R6. Only 8000 miles on it. It's a lot of bike to just commute with, but Zack is in heaven. Here's hoping that he doesn't need Karma Pit Bull for this one.
That's my ttr225 behind it. :) And the kids, of course.

Abysmal bike rack choice
These bike racks are awful. Next time I have to use one my head will explode.
Notice how the bike doesn't fit. And no, it's not because it's an ultra large bike - it's because it was designed to only lock the front wheel. FAIL.

SURLY TRACK BIKE : TRACK BIKE
Surly track bike : Bicycle seat posts : Mountain biking stickers
Surly Track Bike
- A bicycle made for track (also called "velodrome") racing. These bikes resemble road-racing models but have only one gear and no brakes. The gear is "fixed," which means you can't coast. You control speed by holding back on the pedals.
- A very simple bike used for track racing. It has a single-speed gear without freewheeling and there are no brakes.
- A track bicycle or track bike is a bicycle optimized for racing at a velodrome or outdoor track. Unlike road bicycles, the track bike is a fixed-gear bicycle and so has a single gear and neither freewheel nor brakes. Tires are narrow and inflated to high pressure to reduce rolling resistance.
- Bad-tempered and unfriendly
- inclined to anger or bad feelings with overtones of menace; "a surly waiter"; "an ugly frame of mind"
- (surliness) temper: a disposition to exhibit uncontrolled anger; "his temper was well known to all his employees"
- Surly is an Irish alternative rock band from Limerick City. Mike Noonan, Kieran Nunan, Liam O'Byrne and Kevin Quigley met when attending Crescent College Comprehensive.

2001 Suzuki Marauder
Since I don't have a pilots license this is my little moment of joy. There is no more peace in the world for me than to get on this thing and haul ass back into the mountains on a nice warm day. There is nothing to describe the feeling of being out in the middle of no where all by yourself with a good ole cold bottle of water and a candy bar setting on the side of a creek somehwere.A while back I was going to take a short 40 mile ride and ended up in another state and had to spend the night there.
