5 STAR HOTELS FOR CHEAP

My father took this picture while he was on holiday in Bournemouth in July 1987. Parked in the entrance to what looks like a guest house, this ex LUT Guy Arab V was at the time in the ownership of Verwood Transport and was wearing this pseudo version of the old Middlesbrough Corporation livery. Verwood Transport used the bus on service and school contract work, but eventually it was exported to Budapest, where I understand it still survives.

Looking at the Perutz made slide, which was taken with a very basic Halina 35mm viewfinder camera, it looks fine, but in trying to scan it I’ve had all sorts of problems and this is about the best I can do with it. Perutz were the East German arm of Agfa, but Perutz's equivalent slide film was cheaper than Agfa's, however, unlike Agfa the film quality varied considerably and you took a chance when using it. Perutz like Agfa had a bias to blue, and so with it being a blue bus and taken on a dull day, I guess that it's not that surprising to find problems in scanning the image.
