Ceramic Musical Instruments
- To see musical instruments, denotes anticipated pleasures. If they are broken, the pleasure will be marred by uncongenial companionship. For a young woman, this dream foretells for her the power to make her life what she will.
- , occasionally called Legend of Zelda or Zelda, is a high fantasy action-adventure video game series created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. It was developed and published by Nintendo, with some portable installments outsourced to Flagship/Capcom and Vanpool.
- (musical instrument) any of various devices or contrivances that can be used to produce musical tones or sounds
- Made of clay and hardened by heat
- an artifact made of hard brittle material produced from nonmetallic minerals by firing at high temperatures
- of or relating to or made from a ceramic; "a ceramic dish"
- (ceramics) the art of making and decorating pottery
- Of or relating to the manufacture of such articles
Turtle-necked Tone Pendant
I still find these the perfect project for travel...the finished greenware piece is about 3" long and will still shrink about 10%-12% after bisque and soda vapor firings. The piece is completely hand-constructed from 6 small pieces, assembled, and heavily textured.
This is an experiment to make something that could actually hang around one's neck, but not reveal completely it's function (i.e. the tone holes are on the back). On reflection of that thought, looking at it from the top, it looks more like some sort of primitive, fertility symbol...let's not go there.
Daybreak's Song - Whistling Vessel
When complete this will be a double-globed, whistling vessel intended to acknowledge ancient mesoamerican artifacts with similar function. When filled with water, this instrument plays as the piece is tilted back and forth, pushing a small column of air through a tubular connection along the bottom of the two globes. The air pushes through a whistle-like construction and tones escape through the mouth in the direction of the water flow.
Actual size is approximately 14" tall and 16" wide.

Tour De France 1994 - Lance Armstrong
Now a SEVEN times Tour De France Winner.... Lance Armstrong wearing the ' World Champion ' jersey.
'This jersey was won by Lance in the 1993 world championships. This is the 1994 version that he raced in.
Here we see Lance at the top of a hill in South Harting, UK..
This is a ' crop ' of another photo in my Tour De France set.
My days Tour De France extravaganza began at Bishops Waltham where i photographed the riders and indeed managed to get a few shots of the French police, the Gendarmerie.
Once the riders had passed i gathered my gear together and whilst the Tour proceeded north to Basingstoke i travelled East to South Harting and, having found a suitable vantage point ( walking right to the top of this hill ) i again waited for the mass of riders in the most famous cycle race in the world.
Prior to the riders appearing you have the passing of the cavalcade which is a gigantic mass of vehicles for supporting the Tour and Sponsers vehicles too.
Within these vehicles people were throwing all kinds of products to the crowds.
It was quite a day.
Tour De France 1994 - Lance Armstrong
Check out the rider... the rider in the white jersey here is the famous Lance Armstrong of the Motorola team.
The 5th stage ( 115 miles, Portsmouth to Portsmouth ) of the 1994 Tour De France.
This photo was taken at South Harting on 7th July 1994.
I managed to catch the race twice on this day. Once at Bishops Waltham and then , whilst the race tarvelled north, i drove east to South Harting to watch it all over again.
It was a great day.

CHEFS MANDOLIN. MANDOLIN
Chefs Mandolin. Violin Making School.
Chefs Mandolin
- A mandolin (mandolino) is a musical instrument in the lute family (plucked, or strummed). It descends from the mandore, a soprano member of the lute family.
- A mandoline is a cooking utensil used for slicing and for cutting juliennes; with proper attachments, it can make crinkle-cuts. It consists of two parallel working surfaces, one of which can be adjusted in height.
- A musical instrument resembling a lute, having paired metal strings plucked with a plectrum. It is played with a characteristic tremolo on long sustained notes
- a stringed instrument related to the lute, usually played with a plectrum
- A professional cook, typically the chief cook in a restaurant or hotel
- (chef) a professional cook
- The Chefs were a Brighton-based twee pop group during the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band consisted of Helen McCookerybook (bass guitar and vocals), James McCallum (Helen's brother; guitar), Russell Greenwood (drums; died June 25, 1999) and Carl Evans (guitar).
- A kitchen chef is a person who cooks professionally for other people. In a professional kitchen setting, the term is used only for the one person in charge of everyone else in the kitchen — the "executive chef."

Ingredients
1 tbs coriander seeds
1 tbs cumin seeds
4 French shallots, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
1 bunch coriander
500g topside beef mince
1 lemon, rind finely grated
1 egg
5 tbs soft white breadcrumbs
1 tbs seeded mustard
1 piece pita bread
? small red onion, peeled
Extra virgin olive oil
Pinch salt
2 baby cucumbers
Thick Greek yoghurt, coriander sprigs & deep fried shallots, to serve
Makes 1 (serves 2)
Method
1. Spoon coriander and cumin seeds into a frying pan and toast over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant. Tip into a mortar and use pestle to finely grind the warm spices.
2. Cover base of frying pan with olive oil and add shallots and garlic, cook over low heat until soft and translucent. Spoon into a bowl and refrigerate until cold. Wash coriander root well then finely chop 6cm of the root and stem, set top half of the bunch aside for later.
3. Combine mince, lemon rind, egg, breadcrumbs, mustard, shallot and garlic mixture, spices and salt and pepper in a bowl. Use clean hands to mix until well combined. Preheat oven grill to medium-high.
4. Press beef mixture onto a 22cm round flat bread, leaving a 1cm border around the outer edge. Heat a little oil in an ovenproof frying pan over medium heat, add pita bread and cook 1 minute. Transfer the pan to the oven and grill 4-5 minutes until just cooked through. Remove from the oven. Check the under-side of the bread is golden and crisp if not cook a few minutes on the stove top over high heat.
5. Meanwhile, finely slice the onion into a bowl using a mandolin. Season with salt and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Thinly slice the cucumbers on the angle and place into a bowl. Season with salt and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
6. Remove the kofta from the pan. Spread generously with yoghurt. Top with onion salad, cucumber, coriander sprigs and deep fried shallots to serve.
I actually used Light Tzaiki instead of yogurt and turkish break instead of pita. I didnt have any salad onion and i used preground herbs because i had them BUT it was delicious!!!!!
meyer lemon macro
Recipes for Shaker lemon pie tell you to slice the lemons "paper-thin." I have learned through repeated trial and error that if you slice lemons to paper thinness, you will get paper-thin slices of peel and a mess of juice. I have tried using a sharpened chef's knife, a serrated knife, a mandolin and a carbon-steel Chinese cleaver, and the results have always been the same. It just dawned on me today that the reason for this is that the lemon vesicles (i.e. the little "bulbs" that hold the juice) are not paper-thin themselves. So I've relaxed a little bit. I aim for a thickness of at least 1/16" but less than 1/8", and let the sugar take care of the rest.

Classical Guitar Techniques
- The classical guitar technique is a fingerstyle technique used by classical guitarists to play classical guitar music on a classical guitar.
I was tagged a few times now, so let's see....
1) My dance class is modern dance, from a girl still at school, but she's really sweet and it's a lot of fun.
2) I've wanted to go to dance class for a really long time now, and I love it now that I do.
3) I'd also love to learn how to play the piano.
4) I've had four years of classical guitar lessons.
5) I forgot how to read notes, so I can't play anymore.
6) I'm positive that I could play quite a bit if I only knew the notes. I didn't forget the technique.
7) I'm thinking of doing a 52 weeks project next year, and do it big, so no crappy 5 min. shoots anymore.
8) I'm not handling the recent stress so well.
9) I miss seeing my friends everyday, like I did in high school.
10) I'm not sure if Flickr has gotten to know this, but Daniel and I are together again, and happy, and have been now for nearly two months. Expect a photo of us together soon!

VIOLIN NOTE NAMES. VIOLIN NOTE
Violin note names. Christian guitar sheet music. Free easy classical piano sheet music.
Violin Note Names
- Violin was the first album released by violinst Vanessa-Mae. It was recorded in October 1990, near her 12th birthday, and released shortly afterwards in March 1991. Vanessa-Mae contributed her royalties from the album to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
- A stringed musical instrument of treble pitch, played with a horsehair bow. The classical European violin was developed in the 16th century. It has four strings and a body of characteristic rounded shape, narrowed at the middle and with two f-shaped sound holes
- bowed stringed instrument that is the highest member of the violin family; this instrument has four strings and a hollow body and an unfretted fingerboard and is played with a bow
- (violinist) a musician who plays the violin
The Duttons - just fiddlin' around....
I don't know their names. But I can tell you that the first one on the left looks a lot like "Tony Robbins" and is very funny. His sister right next to him was voted Branson's best violinist this year and is due to have that baby in about three weeks. The fourth person in the row, the third brother in the row just became a father again for the fourth time about two hours before the show started. I really enjoyed their show.
Alien Cello Invasion
The same as Cello Heads but de-saturated with a small amount of color added using the color curves, just to enhance the picture a little bit. A suggestion was made that they looked a bit alien, so the name has had a little change... Also it has been noted that the bottom left one looks a little sinister....

Milky Way & Shooting Star
I was going through some shots from Colorado and found this one. Another shot of the Milky Way, and not one of the better ones either.
However, I noticed something odd in the shot. Just this shot… none of the other shots had this in it. I thought it might be a shooting star but I don’t think it is. Can anyone tell me what it might be?
Edit: This appears to be a shooting star.
