Day 19 - The Collective Day 19 - Mountain bike ride. 2.5 hour GMBC ride on slightly drier trails than last night! It was a different challenge on tonight's club ride than yesterday's. Today the struggle was keeping up with the front while keeping an eye/ear out to make sure you had someone behind so the group didn't split. When you're whizzing along having fun it's quite tricky to remember to check the person behind hasn't missed the turning you just took. It might not seem important but the group gets fragmented easily with all the different abilities and it is meant to be a sociable thing plus if someone falls or has a mechanical then they could get left behind. It's a case of remembering you're part of a club or a collective; one for all and all for one sort-of-thing. So what is the collective noun for a group of mountain bikers? Any suggestions? A rack of bikers? A faff? A tumble? A multi-tool? No prizes - it's just for fun!!
