Top Albums 2000-2009 1. Air - Talkie Walkie Odd, quirky and totally digestible music that I NEVER say no too. At the same time as being odd, Air continuously make some of the most beautiful music I know of. They also put on the best concert i've ever been to, amazing. 2. St. Germain -Tourist A collection of songs that secretly attracts listeners from all genres. On a personal note this album has made several connections between myself and people from other countries where language has been a barrier, comforting and wonderful. 3. Micachu - Jewellery Weird, slightly chaotic, but amazingly fresh music. The UK does not disappoint in my opinion. Mica is classically trained and this album just takes classic elements on a serious ride. 4. Radiohead - In Rainbows While a mature addition to their catalogue, this album is incredible, and doubly so if you have gotten your hands on disc 2, 10-fold if you got your hands on a vinyl box-set. Of course the distribution method was ground-breaking and really told record companies to wake up. 5. Cinematic Orchestra - Man With a Movie Camera Just listen. Modern jazz at its finest, this is a soundtrack tuned to a silent movie from the 20's. With or without the movie this album is powerful, especially if you have it on vinyl and can get a real sense for the depth of the instruments. Gold Plated Aspen Leaf Earrings Finished up a product photography job this evening. The job was for the Rocky Mountain Leaf Company. They offer various plant leafs plated in gold, silver and copper. This was the first major product photography job I've shot of jewelry. I've learned that shooting jewelry is really hard to keep the stinkin' reflections under control. Technical Ramblings: Single AlienBee B800 with 7 inch reflector covered with Glad Press n Seal up and behind earrings. The bee is about a foot away from the earrings. The earrings are surrounded by a light tent and any other type of diffusion material I could find. In the earring there are black reflections and that is the camera lens. Never could figure out how to get rid of that reflection. Post work in Lightroom to adjust white balance, contrast and vibrance. Then off to Photoshop to whiten the paper background to true white.
