Remould Car Tyres - Cheap 35 Inch Tires.
Remould Car Tyres
- (Car tyre) A tire (in American English) or tyre (in British English) is a ring-shaped covering that fits around a wheel rim to protect it and enable better vehicle performance by providing a flexible cushion that absorbs shock while keeping the wheel in close contact with the ground.
- To mould or shape again; To reshape or redesign
- A tire that has been given a new tread
- retread: give new treads to (a tire)
- recast: cast again; "The bell cracked and had to be recast"
Project 365 #231: 190811 Early Retyrement
It's fair to say that my front tyres were fairly close to death, but slightly off tracking has finished them off slightly prematurely.
This is the car up on the ramps at Priory Tyres getting the tracking done after having a couple of new tyres fitted.
The tyres were ?52 each for budget ones. It wasn't that long ago that ?52 would have got me a branded tyre. That's progress I guess.
Steve in the tyre shop was telling me that only that day he had to charge someone ?35 for a remould, and he felt guilty about it!
Well, I'm ?124 lighter (ouch) but for two new tyres that I can be sure are pointing in the right direction I guess it's just a flesh wound.
Old Ads
Quite a popular couple of old ads. Fair few shots on Flickr already and I'm not surprised. BP still make Energol but it seems to be an inductrial lubricant brand now and not for cars. Regent remoulds, a popular post WW II alternative to expensive new tyres are long gone I believe. Both these painted-on-the-wall ads are at least half a century old. I think they have a certain charm.
You'll find them in Poland Street, Soho. They can be seen from Bodean's BBQ restaurant which I can absolutely recommend.
