Peach and Gold Samurai
This seated Samurai figure is articulated, with the body being made of canvas covered in silk fabrics with muslin head, hands and feet. The costume is made of the same embroidered silk fabrics imported from India. The leggings have brown leather lacings and the base of the helmet headpiece is made from a turkey breast bone. The neckpiece the figure is wearing is made out of a silver amulet from Africa, called a "Spiral of God", which is believed to protect the wearer from evil spirits by trapping them in the spiral labyrinth inscribed on its face. The figure is seated on a base made of 1/2 in Birch plywood covered in a handmade Amate bark paper.
