The new dryers cost 200% more than the old ones - for a single 45 minute run. The problem is that I had to dry my pants twice because they were still wet after the first cycle (and I didn't even have the machine more than half full).

So 400% increase. The washers are the "bargain" with only a 33% increase, while the big dryers (which aren't working yet) look to be a 100% increase (from 25 to 50 cents per 10 minutes, with a regular load taking about 20 minutes to dry, or 30 for my pants, jeans, and towels, which all take longer).

I was messing around with perspective and focus here. Plus I wanted to rant about the rate increase in the newly refurbished laundry room in my building.
