Based on the replica built by Superformance, the Shelby cars are trimmed to simulate the triad of GT40s that finished 1-2-3 at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. All cars are built as Mk. IIs (although Superformance does offer a Mk. I replica) and are decorated in your choice blue with white stripes, black with silver stripes, or red with white stripes. Although much of the car is standard Superformance fair, Shelby's touches are limited mostly to branding: Door handles and headlamp covers sport the man's name, as do dash badges, floor mats, and other special details. For his extraordinary heroism and leadership in Fallujah, Iraq, as the Weapons Company first sergeant for 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Kasal was awarded the Navy Cross during a ceremony here Monday. “The word hero is tossed around pretty loosely these days,” said Maj. Gen. Michael R. Lehnert, Commanding General of Marine Corps Installations West, after awarding Kasal with the Naval service’s second-highest decoration, in front of an audience that included the 1st Marine Division’s past and present commanding generals, Lt. Gen. James N. Mattis and Maj. Gen. Richard F. Natonski, respectively. ”Some may call a basketball player a hero for scoring the winning goal or a celebrity for donating a small portion of their earnings to a good cause, but Kasal is a true American hero.” When then-1st Sgt. Kasal assisted one of his platoons with an over watch inside Fallujah that day, intense gunfire broke out in an Iraqi home to his immediate front. Seconds later, Marines were rapidly exiting the building, known as the “House of Hell.” “That house was a death trap,” said Maj. Gen. Lehnert. “It was set up for one purpose: to kill United States Marines.” Kasal could have easily stayed out of the house.” When he found out that there were Marines still pinned down inside the infamous house, nothing the insurgents could put on the table would stop him from rescuing his Marines. “Going in for them was the right thing to do,” said Kasal, 39, who hails from Afton, Iowa. “They’re Marines, and I’m a Marine. We look out for each other.” Upon entry of the house, Kasal found himself face-to-face with an insurgent who he neutralized at extreme close range. Shortly afterwards, AK-47 gunfire was coming from all directions, and Kasal was hit from behind. “While I was in that house, I made three life or death decisions,” Kasal said. “I never thought I would live through any of them, but I did what I did to help the other Marines.” The first decision Kasal made was to expose himself to enemy fire in order to pull another wounded Marine out of the line of fire. Kasal took more enemy fire doing this. While both Marines were under cover, they assessed their wounds. Both had multiple injuries, but there were only enough bandages for one of them to live. Kasal made his second decision to forfeit his medical supplies to the other Marine. “It made more sense to use all of the bandages on one of us then to split the supplies and have us both bleed to death,” Kasal said. The insurgents deployed a hand grenade to get the Marines out of cover, and it landed within a few feet of the two bleeding Marines. During these decades, the Theresa was known as the "Waldorf of Harlem," playing host to many of America's most prominent black social, political, entertainment ,and sports figures as well as to many foreign dignitaries. The Theresa was also home to important Harlem institutions, including the March Community Bookstore and Malcom X's Organization for Afro-American Unity. . The Theresa entered the national limelight in 1960 when Cuban premier Fidel Castro chose to stay at the hotel while visiting New York to speak at the United Nations General Assembly; while at the Theresa,, Castro hosted a visit from Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev. As Harlem became more closely linked to built-up parts of the metropolis, it generated interest from real estate speculators and builders. However, the entire Harlem area was not developed at one time. With the advantage of transit lines on Second, Third, and Fourth avenues, East Harlem was heavily developed by the mid-1880s, primarily with housing for working people. Central Harlem was far less developed in this period; single-family rowhouses, planned for affluent middle-class families, clustered on the blockfronts between 123rd and 135th streets east of Eighth Avenue, but virtually the entire area between Park Avenue and Ninth Avenue (now Morningside Avenue) from 110th to 123rd streets remained vacant until the 1890s and first years of the twentieth century. During the era of major development in Harlem, following the opening of the elevated lines, 125th Street began to take on the character of a regional main street. Every one of the transit lines that ran through Harlem had a station on 125th Street. By 1885, several of Harlem's important institutional, cultural, and commercial organizations had built or rented space on the street. This was especially true in East Harlem where there were several important churches, the architecturally distinguished headquarters of the Mount Morris Bank (a designated New York City Landmark), and a number of civic installations, including a post office and courthouse in a building known as Harlem Hall. East 125th Street was also lined with many tenements and flats with stores at street level. West 125th Street was less extensively built up than the eastern portion of the street. (16) Procession Panel petroglyphs There must have been close to 100 little people pecked into the desert varnish rock, and forming a sinuous procession that appeared to be heading right to left or east to west. This procession panel of "little people" had some deer petroglyphs and stylized anthromorphs, snakes, and track petroglyphs below the little people procession panel. I spent quite a long time observing and photographing these interesting petroglyphs and the more you looked, the more you saw. In the little people procession panel there were many of the figures "waving" with stylized right hands; at least three who appeared to be carrying a sheepherder's "cane" and one of my favorites, a procession line little people.....backpacker. It was fascinating. Two figures, one of the deer and an anthromorph had what looked like a "snake" extending out in an unreal connection. In the case of the one deer, from its tail and from the man figure, from his hand. It is fun to try, to no avail, to imagine what the artist was trying to convey, capture, or accomplish with each and all of these rock art figures. I didn't see any pictographs at this site. All rock art appeared to be petroglyphs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I reached the trailhead for my hike up Comb Ridge to the Procession Panel petroglyphs, I met two nice couples who said the route was well marked but that I should stay low instead of follow my natural instinct to quickly gain the panel wall base. When I got the last cairn, my natural instict was to climb up to the base of what I thought to be the panel wall and hike it until I reached the Procession Panel petroglyphs. I decided to drop down and follow a trail I saw up through the sandy scrub to the slickrock. It brought be to a beautifl view over the top of Comb Ridge, through a slickrock notch, but I knew then that I would either have to drop back down the grade to where I had left the last cairn OR carefully climb directly up the ledges under the panel wall. I used my GPS just to make certain the panel was where I thought it was, then climbed the ledges, coming out right below the Procession Panel petroglyphs. I thoroughly enjoyed the variety and some of the "unique" styles of petroglyphs in this well preserved and interesting petroglyph site. I took lots of photos, then returned down the panel wall cliff base, finding many old and worn petroglyphs to admire, along the way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May 12th through May 19th - - I traveled 9 states in 8 days, camping, driving back roads, visiting scenic and historic sites, and taking some great day hikes. These are some of the photographs from this solo "road trip". Day One: Home in Eastern Washington; Mountain Home, Idaho; Owyhee, Nevada and a very cold night camped at Wild Horse Crossing south of Mountain City, Nevada. Day two: NEVADA - - Mountain City; Elko; Wells; Ely (through a snow storm); Panaca. UTAH - - Enterprise, Veyo, to a warm and scenic enjoyable camp and hiking at Snow Canyon. Day three: UTAH - - Snow Canyon; St. George; Hurricane; to Fredonia, Arizona. Forest Service Road #22 and many others to places like Monument Point and Indian Hollow. Too cold to camp (got down to 19 degrees that night), so dropped down low to BLM wilderness land off 89 A and spent the night among sagebrush and juniper with curious mule deer as "neighbors". Day four: Opening day of the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Visited the park and arriving early had many places (Cape Royal), entirely to myself. ARIZONA: Vermillion Cliffs; Page; Kaibito; and Navajo National Monument and Betatakin, where I had my nicest camp site (Canyon View at Betatakin). Day five: Betatakin camp to Kayenta; Monument Valley to drive the 17 mile "loop road" through the monument; to Mexican Hat to recharge my camera battery (Canon G10) while eating Navajo stew and fry bread at a cafe along the San Juan River; to Comb Ridge where I took two short enjoyable "rock art and cliff dwelling" hikes (procession panel and Monarch Cave ruins; up to Blanding, Utah where I checked into a small motel for two nights. Day six: Get up early and hike a bit over 14 miles down Kane Gulch; down Grand Gulch to Todie Canyon, with many side excursions to visit cliff dwellings, granaries, rock art sites, etc. Weather started to blow in by the time I finished my hike. Day seven: Changed my mind with the weather. Instead of heading for the Bisti Wilderness (for the first time) and Chaco Canyon (for the third time) - - I headed north through Moab then turned east toward Grand Junction, Colorado. Stopped at Sego Canyon rock art site outside of Thompson Springs, Utah. COLORADO - - Grand Junction, Rifle, Craig. WYOMING - -Baggs, Rawlins, Lander, Dubois (where I got a real nice motel room for a reasonable rate). Day eight: Left Dubois, Wyoming early. Cold, windy, cloudy weather with a hint of snow in the air. Drove up through Yellows Rochester rock art panel location The Rochester Creek rock art panel near Emery, Utah consists of mostly petroglyphs, some in the Fremont style (700-1300 AD). The Fremont culture was contemporaneous with the Anasazi. This panel clearly has some Fremont petroglyphs as well as more modern "rock art and grafitti". Ute Indians may have produced some. A few experts feel there are some much older Barrier Canyon style figures at this location. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Basics: Petroglyphs were "pecked" into a rock surface. Pictographs were "painted" onto a rock surface. Some of the pictographs found in Utah are over 3,000 years old. The paint the native American used to make many of the Colorado Plateau pictographs consisted of ground hematite mixed with animal fat and and bird eggs. The paint was absorbed into the sandstone matrix and when protected from the elements (and morons - modern vandals); have lasted thousands of years. Dating petroglyphs can be tricky, even for trained scientists, who many times must depend on "style" and other clues associated with the rock art to date the rock art. Pictographs have the advantage of having organic materials used in their creation, which may aid dating. NOTE: If you have a deep interest in rock art (pictographs and petroglyphs) of the American Southwest then get the excellent book titled: "Legacy on Stone" by Sally J. Cole. This is not "page turner" reading and gets pretty technical at times, but if you want some well researched facts and information on the rock art and their presumed creators, then get her book. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx We drove through the night from our home in Eastern Washington to downtown - - Emery, Utah. I always fill up with gas whenever wandering around back country roads, so I stopped at Emery to fill up our pickup truck and to ask some questions about the points of interest we wanted to visit. I have heard that some men don't like asking for directions or information, but I'm not one of them. I learn a LOT from asking local folks, who know the area, for the latest hiking, sight seeing, and travel information. I met a really nice couple, who ran the small store and gas station at Emery. They confirmed our planned travel plans to reach the trailhead for the Rochester Creek rock art panel hike. I casually asked about how rough the road might be from Moore to I-70 (Called the Moore Cutoff Road locally), and was astonished to hear that it was now paved and you could whisk along at 55 mph. This was good news, since the Head of Sinbad rock art panel was going to be our next destination that afternoon. It was also where we hoped we could "car camp". The couple handed me a pamphet titled: "San Rafael Country" which had a nice map, photos, and up to date information on the points of interest in the area. It is always fun to try to get inside the mind of the "artist" who created the rock art, hundreds and many cases, thousands, of years ago. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Road Trip - Utah April 17th - 24th, 2010: My wife and I headed for Southern Utah, just before midnight on Friday the 16th of April (after she got off work at her part time job). We drove straight through to Southern Utah, to take advantage of the good weather forecast early on in our trip. Storms were forecast for later in the trip and in fact we got a pretty good taste of same on Wednesday the 21st. Short hike. > Pictograph Canyon pictographs. Short but interesting hike. > Drive Hanksville, Torrey, Boulder, to Escalante (check into motel) Monday 4.19.2010 > Drive out the Hole In The Rock Road. Visit Devil’s Garden and Metate Arch. > Drive to Dry Fork of Coyote Gulch. Hike down to Peek-a-boo and Spooky slot canyons. I hiked the loop up Peek-a-boo and down Spooky while my wife hiked with another lady hiker up Dry Fork and then down to the bottom of Spooky. Tuesday 4.20.2010 > Hike Lower Calf Creek Falls (my third hike here and my wife’s second) and scramble up to two sets of pictograph panels. Wednesday 4.21.2010 > Drive the Burr Trail road from Boulder to Notom (my fourth time on this scenic route and my wife’s second). Photograph in Long Canyon and along Waterpocket Fold. (12) Sergei Takes a Gratuity The 'smugglers' who shared the cabin with me on the Trans Siberian always placed a generous cash gratuity into our passports as we were to be searched. Andre 'the elder' would assert his authority as the head smuggler and collect all four of the passports... including mine... and he would give them to the officials with a mischevous smile and a nod that said 'this is my gift to you.' This is my business. This is what I do. Andre always put the American passport on the bottom... I think he thought it would draw less attention there...and then he always shushed me with a stern and piercing look as he prepared for these most critical transactions. The first thing the official would do is put the American passport on top. I began to realize that although we shared that cabin and the comraderie of the rails... or confinement thereof... that Andre 'the elder' didn't really think that having an American in his cabin was all that much good for business. It seemed to bring a little 'extra special' attention and scrutiny to his little clandestine smuggling operation. Maybe he had to bump up the bribes a notch or two to insure the safe passage of his valuable contraband. Either way you could just tell by watching him that Andre was a bottom line kind of guy. By the end of the journey though Andre had invited me to live with him and his family in Poland... to work at his store... and to marry his daughter who he assured me had the bluest of eyes and breasts that were the national pride of Poland. Although I never saw him again I came to love Andre as a father in law even though I never met his daughter... somehow I feel like I know her. It's no joke either about Polish womens breasts being an object of national pride. Somehow Andre 'the elder' seemed capable of working it into any conversation relating to his motherland... to which Andre 'the younger' and their female companion would invariably agree with. This usually led to a toast... a clanking of the glasses... the tipping of a bottle and a slurred chorus of 'nasdorovia's.' Whenever the merits of Polish breasts were agreed on, indeed that meant it was time to drink some more vodka. Even to this day... when I think of Andre or Polish womens breasts... it makes me want to knock back a shot of vodka... but I don't drink anymore and really I am more of an ass man... but still. I never had the heart to tell Andre that... I mean, talking about Polish womens breasts really seemed to make him so happy. I didn't want to take that way from him. You've just never seen a guy so filled with joy as Andre was whenever his favorite subject was being discussed or debated... it really lit him up from the inside. Anytime you want to make a Polish national feel good... or homesick... just bring up the fact that Polish women have the best breasts. It's been good for a lot of free drinks for me. I had just left Asia... everyday I travelled closer to Europe. With the passage of time and distance Andre's observations were indeed verified though... the closer I got to Poland... the larger breasts became. I'm not kidding. Andre was right. The first Russian I met... the man smiling in the photograph... was like most Russians it seemed...named Sergei. A few were named Alexander or Andre. I think Russians have only three names... except for politicians or people of fame. I might have met a couple of Victors and a handful of Igor's as well. Somebody once said they'd heard of a Russian named Nikolai too. Still... most men in Russia are named Sergei. That's just the way it is there. Seconds after I took this photograph Sergei slipped into his pocket without flinch or hesitation the currency that Andre had stashed in his passport. I knew it was coming and I was watching closely for it. I barely caught it. And I grew up in Chicago. Living on that train with those smugglers was like taking an advanced college course in the subtleties and techniques of graft. It was Andre 'the elder' who taught me that you need to keep variable amounts of currency in each of your four pockets... like five in one, ten in the next, then twenty and a hundred...and that you must properly size up the person you are attempting to bribe and choose from one of your pockets the minumum amount you are betting it will take to pacify that official. That's helped me more than once in life since then. Andre also showed me that it was really important to telegraph the bribe... to look the mark right in the eyes and demonstrate that one... you were about to bribe him and two... that you were going to reach into your pocket and take out all of the money you had available to you for this transaction. It was really deep psychology according to Andre. The man had an ethic and he was a perfectionist. It's always remarkable to watch such a master at work. Andre pointed out that it was good form to allow your pocket to turn slightly inside out so that the mark could see that indeed you really emptied it. But it doesn't say "buy me" to just everyone. Becoming a West Virginian was probably the furthest thing from Los-Angeles-native Jim Campbell's mind in August 2006, when, during a month-long trip in a motor home to visit the area where his in-laws grew up, he rounded a corner and saw nothing but the 5,800 square-foot house -- with a for sale sign in the yard. "Ever since I'd known (wife, Debbie), she would talk about West Virginia and how beautiful it is," Campbell said. "We bought a motor home to take a trip, so with my wife, my in-laws and our two dogs, we set out for a month on the road." Campbell said because of work on a bridge, his motor home full of family had to take the longer route through Ansted on the way to Jodie. That led them past the house, which he said probably was two years from collapsing. "We wanted to see the house before we had to leave for Ohio, and we had to sort of twist the agent's arm because everyone in town wanted to see inside," he said. "We got a 20-minute tour and put an offer in that afternoon. "We decided we were going to make a life change." Campbell had quite a life to change. He had made a living doing event production for names such as the Los Angeles Lakers, singer Jimmy Buffett, the Emmy Awards and Honda. He'd renovated numerous large homes and properties before, along with operating a few restaurants and bars. He said he really only needs a computer and an Internet connection to do his work these days, and he's often on the road. But he was ready to put a production in Fayette County. "We rescued a landmark, and all these people have come out of the woodwork to tell us they're so thankful," Campbell said. The Campbells began shipping their belongings from their Arizona home to their new life in Ansted, but health problems made them think they had too much on their plates to swallow, so the sale sign returned. When Jim and Debbie visited the house to retrieve their belongings a few months later, the house compelled them to stick with renovating the town's crown jewel. "I know God has a plan for us here," Campbell said. "(Debbie) said I'd have to pry her cold, dead fingers off the doorknob to ever leave that house. This is where her soul belongs, and I'm her soul mate." The Campbells have the house's exterior work nearly complete, and they're tackling the interior -- with 11 fireplaces and 52 8-foot-tall windows -- a little at a time. They hope to see it become a destination for weddings and other community activities, but Campbell said the area would dictate what it needs the spot to become. As the couple's residence, Campbell said he wanted to treat the home gently. They decorated the home this past Christmas to sponsor the local Christmas parade, and a car show is on the house's schedule for this summer. Campbell, who didn't have much local knowledge just two years ago, now can provide a 40-minute historical tour of the home thanks to his own research and local residents volunteering articles, stories and artifacts. He said his natural talent is to see an end result when looking at the beginnings, and he has the ability to manage multiple projects at once. That has led to additional Fayette county projects. Campbell said he observed a lot of traffic in the Chimney Corner intersection of routes 60 and 16, and when he saw another for sale sign, he had another vision. "The idea is for me to quit doing shows and traveling so much," he said. "I like doing them, and the money's good, but if I could do this and make a nice living and support the house, it's what I want to do." So the property that was the former "Aintcha et yet cafe" and country store soon will be a Jim Campbell production, as well. "It's just really nice that he thinks as much of our area as we do," said Cindy Dragan, assistant director of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce. "He's really infused a great deal of energy here." He's been a candle igniting wildfire through Ansted and the Midland Trail area. "There are naysayers, but the Midland Trail is exciting right now," Campbell said. "Nobody's tapping into it, except the ones who can see." Campbell's vision for what he'll call the Chimney Corner Cafe will include camping spots, a rental cabin, a stage for local musicians and quality, gourmet food that will coincide with Page-Vawter house weddings and catering -- no deep fryers allowed. Through its renovations, the sign currently proclaims it the site of the "Ain't Open Yet Cafe." October Declutter - Day 6, 14th October Found another load of bits that were given to me for a charity bric a brac but were unsold, also some bits from the bathroom. All these items today were given to the same person from Freecycle. She is going to put them most of them in her church’s Christmas fair in November. Two books – painting and decorating and house plant expert. These will go to the church Christmas fair book stall. Lots of plastic knives, forks and spoons. These will be used by her daughter for school. Bottle of pink shampoo: left over from when we had Russian children last summer. We bought it for them, they forgot to take it home, and it’s not the sort we use. Unfortunately the lid was broken so it couldn’t go with the other toiletries. I had to put it in the rubbish collection. Nivea talc: I don’t really use talc, this was a giant pack and I’ve got a smaller one that will do if I need it. This was given to the homeless shelter. They take used toiletries for the homeless people to use when they go in for a shower/bath. Marks & Spencer foam bath: given to the homeless shelter. Paco Rabane after shave: given to the homeless shelter. A pottery thing that goes over a radiator, filled with water. Given to me for charity stall, but not sold so passed on for church fair. Pink vase: same as above. Plastic case with bowls, plates and cups. This was for picnics when my girls were younger. They have both grown up and left home, we don’t need them any more. The person from Freecycle who took them said she’d ask at her daughter’s school if they could use them, otherwise she’d Freecycle them on. Square hook duck thing: not quite sure what this is, a photo holder I think. Given to me in a box of stuff from my sister. This is also going to the church Christmas fair. Thus concludes today’s ‘stuff’. I can almost see the floor in the study now, which is where all this lot was stored. Can’t believe how much stuff we’d collected and had been walking around and over because it was in the way! Holiday Inn I passed by the new Holiday Inn today. The new Holiday Inn is located across the street from Showbiz and has only been open for a week now. I was there on business and was able to check out the whole place. I have to say, I am impressed. Although the building that contains Holiday Inn used to be an apartment building before, they have managed to totally convert the inside to one of the nicest looking hotels in Kuwait. The lobby is very beautiful and modern, it has a really high ceiling made mostly of glass and the furniture is all very tasteful. I checked out the regular room, the executive room, the junior suite and the executive suite. They all are very handsomely decorated and are very affordable. The executive suite which is the largest room they have is 2 large rooms, one is a living area with its own bathroom, small kitchen and plasma screen with internet access while the bedroom features a large king sized bed with a wall to wall cupboard and a large bathroom which includes a jacuzzi and a shower. All for only KD110 a night. They have a Lebanese restaurant on the ground floor called Ayam Zaman. It is easily by far the best decorated Lebanese restaurant in Kuwait. Very elegant and very beautiful. They also have a Chinese restaurant but I wasn't able to check it out because it was still under construction. Outside the restaurant though they had this huge stone mural on the wall which I took a close up picture of. I am seriously surprised at how nice the place turned out to be. The only issue I found was that the corridor to the rooms seemed a bit cramped, but other then that its a very refined hotel. El pati no es va poder construir al centre de l'edifici, seguint els canons de l'epoca, perque no hi havia prou espai en estar tocant la muralla romana, i es va situar a l'entrada. D'aquesta reforma destaca la porta de la planta noble. L'any 1870 va ser comprada en subhasta per Jordi Altimira. The facade was made in the Renaissance style, columned courtyard, gallery, staircase and fountain. In 1870 the house was bought at auction by Jordi Altimira. Together with Josep Garriga they began a major refurbishment of the building to join with neighboring Dega (dean) House. The courtyard became a faculty with these reforms. Subsequently, in 1895 became the headquarters of the Barcelona Bar Association which, in 1902, commissioned architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner with the decoration of the building, including the modernist mailbox on the front. Finally in 1920 it became the property of the City of Barcelona, ??and since 1921 houses the Municipal Archives of History. The facade was made in the Renaissance style, columned courtyard, gallery, staircase and fountain. In 1870 the house was bought at auction by Jordi Altimira. Together with Josep Garriga they began a major refurbishment of the building to join with neighboring Dega (dean) House. The courtyard became a faculty with these reforms. Subsequently, in 1895 became the headquarters of the Barcelona Bar Association which, in 1902, commissioned architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner with the decoration of the building, including the modernist mailbox on the front. Finally in 1920 it became the property of the City of Barcelona, ??and since 1921 houses the Municipal Archives of History. The adequacy of the building for this function was turned to Josep Goday from Agusti Duran i Sanpere approach. Santiago Marco was in charge of the decorations. The Roman wall is visible from inside the building, on the ground floor. In the courtyard there is a large palm tree and the fountain that the day of Corpus is decorated with a "l'ou com balla" (dancing egg). --------------------------- La casa de l'Ardiaca es un espacio peculiar situado en el barrio Gotico de Barcelona. Su traduccion al castellano es Casa del Arcediano o Casa del Archidiacono. En este edificio vivia la jerarquia eclesiastica de los Arcedianos desde el siglo XII cuando la Catedral de Barcelona empezo a tomar la forma gotica actual. Se han sucedido multiples reformas en el edificio desde entonces. La mas significativa es la realizada por Lluis Despla i d'Oms en el siglo XVI. Esta reforma convirtio a la Casa en un Palacete de estructura gotica (de organizacion libre ya que siempre ha estado condicionada al terreno). Con portada de decoracion Renacentista, patio interior columnado, galeria, escalinata y fuente central. En 1870 la casa fue comprada en subasta por Jordi Altimira. Este, junto con Josep Garriga fue el artifice de una importante remodelacion del edificio al unir-lo con la vecina Casa del Dega. El patio se convirtio en claustro con estas reformas. Posteriormente, en 1895 paso a ser la sede del Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona que en 1902 encargo al arquitecto Lluis Domenech i Montaner la decoracion del edificio, incluyendo el buzon modernista en la fachada. Finalmente en 1920 paso a ser propiedad del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, y desde 1921 es la sede del Archivo Municipal de Historia.
