Staging Old Masters, Spring 2009
Held in conjunction with the Old Masters exhibition at the Pulitzer, this is an innovative program in which former prisoners use the exploration of theatre and art to help develop skills for their future lives and employment, while simultaneously building bridges between a broader audience and Old Masters artworks. The participants, all of whom are graduates of Employment Connection, were chosen to attend a six-week class led by Agnes Wilcox of Prison Performing Arts and held alternately at the Pulitzer and Washington University. Beginning with the exploration of Old Masters and their histories and stories, and continuing with a study of writing, movement, voice and diction, and other performance skills, the program culminates in the creation and performance of short theatre pieces based on the students’ interaction with the works featured in the exhibition. Performances will be held every weekend throughout the month of April at the Pulitzer.

Pears On Butcher Block Old Master
Still experimenting with the "Old Master" look. This time trying to be a little less heavy handed with the technique. Aside from lighting, the primary effect is to blend a shot of squashed rusty can onto just the background, leaving the front portion very "photographic".
