This floor is set up mostly to represent what a mid-19th century American midwest home would look like. This section has a lot of different tools to make fabrics like spinning wheels, etc. We were given a demonstration of how the spinning wheels work & what the end results of the spinning would be.

My uncle built this wheel while working at Wee Peggy in New Zealand in the late '70s (?). It hasn't been used much since the '80s,exccept for a brief stint when it was loaned to a friend a couple of years ago. It needs a little TLC, but I do think I see a new fibrecraft hobby in my future.
