High Wycombe Old Station
The original 1854 Wycombe Railway station building at High Wycombe. Designed by I.K. Brunel, it only served as a passenger station for six years because in 1862 the line was extended to Thame and a replacemet station was constructed on a different alignment. The old station was converted into a goods shed and over the years had various extensions added to it. These have now been demolished except for the ugly additional first floor which still awaits removal. The building will now be renovated for retail use. 21st May 2011.
High Wycombe Bus Station 2002
Seen here in August 2002 is the entrance to the old High Wycombe Bus Station which was a dark and dingy affair but was unusual in having garaging facilities which served as the Wycombe Bus Company parking before being taken over by Arriva in 2000. Note also the old style Tesco signing. This scene has now all been swept away with the redevelopment of this part of High Wycombe into the Eden Centre. Seen here is Leyland National Greenway CAZ 6852 with Leyland Olympian / Northern Counties G131 YWC behind.
