200-365: Kibble Run Today was a long day at work. And I was only there from 7:30 until 11:00. Everything that got put on hold last week was a top priority. Oh, one coworker is on vacation and another got banished to sales training. It's going to be a rough week. After that, I went to see my primary care doc. Some of my old back problems are returning. He's going to have an MRI before we do anything else. That makes sense. And I have a cyst that I want to have removed. He says its benign. It still freaks me out. Then I went to the infusion unit for my second dose of Tysabri. It was pretty uneventful. I came home and found my new debit card in the mail. Switching banks is a pain in the ass, and I didn't quite do things in the proper order. The account from my old bank had a functional debit card but not a whole lot of funds in the account. The account from the new bank had the funds but not a debit card. That has since been resolved. That means I had a little bit of shopping to do. Reggie needed kibble! Ever since I've had Reggie, I've kept him on the same kibble as Buddy and Brutus. It makes visits and babysitting a hell of a lot easier when everybody eats the same kibble. Beth had recently changed the kibble her boys are on, so we made the switch while Reggie was staying at their house. I had snagged a little bit of the new kibble from Paul when I left their house yesterday, but it wouldn't get me much past tonight. That's been sorted, now, too. I'm really tired, but I should be cleaning the house. My whole family is coming to visit this weekend. They're all staying in Boston, but they'll be coming up here at some point, so I at least need to have the house looking somewhat decent. wheel nice selfie I got new tires today at Wesco Track & Tire in Van Nuys. I've been going to Wesco since early '80s when they were the only shop in SoCal to carry Phoenix Stahlflex 3011, the hottest street performance tire at the time....and 3011s were what I HAD to have. As it turned out, I befriended the owner, Ed, and then ended up doing the graphic design for Wesco's mail-order advertising. And also doing 70-mile bicycle rides in the Santa Monica Mtns on Saturdays with him and his buddies. Ed was a great guy, and a mentor in many ways. I'm still friends with his son John, who now owns the shop. Years ago, before we had families to tend to, John and I played a lot of racquetball and did some mountain biking in Cheseboro Cyn. Hadn't seen him in a while, so it was good to chat with him today. Back then, in the '80s, I was REALLY into tires and wheels, and still today it's a thrill to be surrounded by hundreds of each. I wandered around the shop and big warehouse area with camera in hand as I waited for my car to get new shoes. Here is one shot. More to come.
