Heirloom
My mom gave me my great-grandfather's wedding band last Sunday.
It's hard to imagine that this ring celebrated the love of two persons back in 1916. Some people would have the gold melted in order to make it into a new ring, but I like it just as it is. Moreover it's engraved Souvernir van uwe vrouw Justine, which makes it all the more special. But maybe I'm just too sentimental ...

Our wedding will be on the 28th of March, 2009. The happiest day of my life. :)
The inscription reads (with some symbology):
"Our hands and hearts with one consent hath tied this knot till death prevent".
