When I was a little kid, my dad would make fried rice on the weekends. It's was very garlicky with dried onions and a lot of salt, pepper and vegetable oil.

He passed away before I could learn how to make it. It's been a bit of trial and error, and I've I added frozen mixed vegetables and a bit of soy sauce. It's still not quite salty or garlicky enough, but it's very tasty.
