These one-of-a-kind, hand made Cloisonne enameled ring, earrings and bracelet are hand made using the antique artwork of Cloisonne Enamel.

Cloisonne is a technique of enameling, the process of fusing glass to precious metal. The cloisonne technique utilizes fine wires of precious metal bent into the outline of a design to create compartments which are called "cloisons" in French. These compartments are then filled with thin layers of finely ground vitreous glass which has been rinsed many times in distilled water and wet packed onto a metal base with a small brush. Each layer is fired in a 1500 degree kiln, and each piece has up to 30 layers.

Cloisonne jewelry requires a painstaking attention to detail. It is a time consuming and exacting process, which may take several days from design to completion. Final work however appears effortless in the brilliance of the colors and its exquisite craftsmanship.

Cloisonne is most frequently done in silver or gold. Our pieces use intense color and clarity enamel, and either fine silver or 14 kt gold wire to “draw” designs.

The Byzantine Empire, 6th century AD, was the setting for gold cloisonne pieces of a religious nature.

Every piece is one of a kind and completely handmade, a sparkling sentiment captured in materials that will not fade or decay with time.
