(Roman Shade) This window treatment style consists of a fabric shade with wooden slats inserted horizontally at intervals down its entire length. It is raised and lowered via pull cord as with other blinds, but gathers soft folds as it does so.
(Roman shade) A flat fabric shade that folds into neat horizontal pleats when raised.
(Roman Shade) A single sheet shade that rises up by lift cord in a tear drop or flat style that looks like an accordion folding up back and forth on itself. Reminds me of an opera house window treatment swag. Part of our Melhanna Shade collection.

new duds
We had always meant to hang these bamboo roman shades, to create more texture (my reason) and "make it bloody dark already" (Stuart). Then, well, six months went by after I bought them and Stuart started to get used to the light. Why install, he said? But he liked it a lot once we'd done it. Score one for stupid designer-y ideas!
Also, the bedding we bought in January during my grief-induced IKEA madness? Yeah, it was dark purple. Guess whose blond hairs showed up ALL OVER that shit. Nano "Bllond Bimbo" Brigouras, is who. So! New duvet cover, white, light grey and blue flowers to match Stuart's painting. Kindle optional.
Living Room/ Library project
A recent project. This project was tons of fun. The client was on a budget so we stretched it -with wall to wall ikea shelving (huge impact) & the client painted the walls herself. We incorporated plenty of her existing pieces and added a few new key ones. Fabulous new drapes, roman shade, light fixtures, lamps, sectional, loveseat. entertainment unit, stretched Marimekko artwork and cushions. She already owned those awesome green chairs so I brought them out of hiding and mixed them in! It's a great mid-century house in a fabulous area. Lucky Client!
