Chocolate and ivory wedding cake with roses & swags / drapes
Fun at the design stage but rather time-consuming in practice, measuring out all the swags and then discovering that chocolate sugarpaste is softer than usual so the swags sag gently downwards, leaving sticky chocolate marks on the ivory paste beneath, as you try to affix them.... Not to mention my daughter (makes a change from it being my son, I suppose), who can now reach the door handles and let herself into the dining room whilst my back as turned, found the chocolate roses and started nibbling before I even knew she was gone!
Everything was sugarpaste, no Royal icing at all.
Parlor Swags
I like the swag valance on this one but I don't care for the way I was asked to arrange the panes at all. It just wouldn't do what I wanted it to.
