- The Good Cook was a series of instructional cookbooks published by Time-Life Books and edited by cookbook author Richard Olney. Each volume was dedicated to a specific subject (such as meat or poultry) and was heavily illustrated with photos of cooking techniques.
Christmas Breakfast
Swiss Eggs in a Shell. The original recipe was for 6, so I reduced everything for two.
Rye bread, buttered on both sides, is set into individual gratin dishes and set in a 475 degree F oven for 5 minutes to lightly toast. Once the toast is removed, the oven temperature should be reduced to 350. Next: for each: sprinkle 1/4 - 1/2 cup grated Emmentaler cheese over the bread, and make a slight well in the center of the cheese. Break one egg into the well. Season with S&P to taste. Drizzle about 1 T cream over the egg, and sprinkle with 1 tsp grated Parmesan cheese. Bake for 10-11 minutes.
We both thought the egg was delicious; it is more filling than expected and one egg was enough for us. While we like our traditional citrus ambrosia for Christmas, we decided that spiced apples, stewed apples, or stewed dried fruit would make a better accompaniment for this dish. A meat side of bacon or sausage would have done nothing for it, in our opinion.

lol anyways soo i decided to do skins in the end, it was soo hard to pick in between supernatural and skins, but in the end i chose this! haha I LOVE COOK&EFFY! haha i like freddie too! but not as much as cook :P:P haha
