Hamleys launches Let’s Play initiative
The famous toy store will kick off “a year of play” with an in-store farmer’s market for children in Glasgow over Easter.
There’s plenty of old fashioned fun in store at Hamleys stores this year. Following recent studies suggesting playtime is being overlooked as a major factor in children’s development, the retailer has decided to host a number of creative workshops over each holiday period, where children and parents are invited to participate in seasonal activities.
Grant Yuill, marketing and events co-ordinator at Hamleys' Glasgow store has dubbed 2011 “the year of play in Hamleys.” According to Yuill events will include “playing musical instruments, inventive story-telling and island living to farm living and make-believe.” The fun starts today with ‘Let’s Play on the Farm’ launching at the Glasgow store.
In- keeping with a farmyard theme, there will also be a Hamleys' garden with vegetables and flowers to understand how to plant, sow and watch them grow.
The farm can be found from 4-11 April at the Hamleys Store, St Enoch Centre, Glasgow.
