I posted the color version of this last night, and it was suggested that this might look good in black and white. So here it is.
CHDK: Canon S5 IS using DIY USB remote shutter trigger . ( I used 20 feet of USB extension cables. I didn't need that much, but I was curious if it would still work with that much cable).
Strobist: Canon 580EX II mounted at shoulder height photo left, 1/32nd power, with DIY black straw flash grid. Three small LED flashlights (9 LED's each) were inserted into the bottom of the bell pointing up to provide the light inside the bell. The flash was triggered with a Cactus V2S trigger.
