Dorothy Silver Shoes
- The Silver Shoes are the magical shoes that appear in the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz as Dorothy Gale's transport home. They were originally owned by the Wicked Witch of the East but passed to Dorothy when her house landed on the Witch.
- Dorothy is a female given name from Greek ??????? (Dorothea) ("gift of the gods") which is derived from the Greek phrase ????? ???? meaning "Gift of God." Although much less common, there are also male equivalents in English such as "Dorie" from the Greek masculine ???????? (Dorotheos).
- Dorothy is a comic book created by Greg Mannino and Mark Masterson and published by Illusive Arts Entertainment, LLC. Dorothy is based on the Wizard of Oz books, originally by L. Frank Baum.

I checked out "The Wizard of Oz" book at the library and found out the shoes were silver instead of ruby.
In Chapter 2, Dorothy receives the "silver shoes" of the Wicked Witch after the feet of the dead Witch had disappeared completely.
In Chapter 13 - "The Silver Shoes," said the Good Witch, "have wonderful powers. And one of the most curious things about them is that they can carry you to any place in the world in three steps, and each step wlll be made in the wink of an eye. All you have to do is to knock the heels together three times and command the shoes to carry you wherever you wish to go."
"If that is so," said the child, joyfully, " I will ask them to carry me back to Kansas at once." ...... Dorothy now took Toto up solemnly in her arms, and having said one last goodbye she clapped the heels of her shoes together three times, saying, "Take me home to Aunt Em!"
