Waldorf-Astoria Hotel ballroom
“New York, strangely, is not rich in the kind of grand hotel lobbies that serve as public common rooms. Chicago, for example, is much richer in this respect than New York. The Waldorf is an exception.” (Francis Morrone, The Architectural Guidebook to New York City)
So I went in! Definitely nice lobby/check-in areas (restored in the 1980s), and so was the ballroom/meeting room area, but the upstairs room hallway I saw wasn’t too special. Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Schultze & Weaver,1931. This might be my favorite hotel shot I've ever taken...I don't know what they were setting up.
