Ripping Flooring
I didn't have any thin hardwood flooring veneer lying around my shop, so a trip to home depot was needed.
Other people suggested using linoleum tiles. I couldn't find any that appealed to me. Most were simulated stone, and I like wood. Then we stumbled upon this simulated Jatoba snap-and-click flooring at a mere $14 for 20 square feet.
This photo is of two widths of flooring planks snapped together, with the middle of the green masking tape indicating the 11-inch mark. I used my table saw to rip this to 11-inches. The purpose of the tape is to eliminate chip-out. My first cut on another piece left the most horrible chipped edge I have ever seen. Masking tape on chippy wood products helps clean that up.
