my letter to his new family

Some things about Henry...He LOVES being scratched on his chin and by his ears! I have cuddled him in the crook of my arm like a baby since he was a kitten and rubbed his tummy...he stretches his paws out and kneads them, sometimes right on your cheek or chin! He drools really bad when he's being pet and he's relaxed! He likes to lounge in the sun for hours and he loves canned cat food but he gets fat very fast from it so we've only given him one can a week, its been a special treat for him! Henry gets big and fat during fall / winter but don't be shocked when he gets really skinny come spring time! He sheds a lot during that time and looses so much weight that we thought he was sick! It happened both years and he was fine so I just wanted to let you know so you don't freak out! ;o) Another thing he might do if he gets overwhelmed is hiss. He's never scratched anyone but there have been a few times when a lot of kids in the neighborhood have picked him up to pet him and a lot of them are surrounding him all trying to pet him at the same time and he's hissed at them. Just trying to let them know to let him go! Everyone loves him, he's kind of become the neighborhood mascot! We have found him and the cat next door curled up next to each other in a chair enjoying the sun! He is the best cat I've ever had and like I told you on the phone, my husband doesn't even like cats and has claimed Henry as "his" cat! It is breaking my heart to let him go but I believe he is going to a good home where he will get lots of love and attention...and that means a lot to me! I don't think it will take long for him to feel comfy with your family! Thanks for giving me some peace of mind! Please rub his tummy for me every chance you get!

the stupid plastic thing with the line on it is loose and I neglected to remove it before taking the picture. I weigh about 144 pounds, according to this highly questionable scale.

ETA: hello, AW folks! I did not know about the pool when I posted this. I just happened to weigh myself on Wednesday. I have been trying to lose weight since the first of the year, when I weighed around 150. I lost nearly 10 pounds, half of which I put back on. I eat really well, but apparently just too much. My goal is to lose 10 pounds in a month (by May 19). I know that's a little fast, but it's within reason and I have a sort-of deadline. If I make it, I'm hoping to lose another 10 by my birthday (July 6), which would put me nearly down to what I used to weigh. I have no delusions about ever looking the way I did pre-baby, but I'd like to get as close as I can.
