Trainrise...
A north (west...? I can't recall timetable direction for this subdivision) -bound CSX freight approaching the Pembroke, Kentucky crossings as the moon rises at twilight last night (8-12-2011). I found I didn't have the tripod in my vehicle (it never made it back after shooting the 4th of July fireworks!) and I did my best to brace against the crossing installation's equipment box to capture these. "Noisy" images, yes... Far more than I care for but another part of the learning curve I'm working to resolve so I can play with this type of image far more frequently (the moon shots are another issue entirely! LOL). ;-)
Henderson Waves
Henderson Waves is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore (36 metres above Henderson Road). It connects the Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill.
The bridge has a unique wave-form made up of seven undulating curved steel “ribs” that alternately rise over and under its deck. The curved “ribs” form alcoves that function as shelters with seats within.
Slats of yellow balau wood, an all-weather timber found in South-East Asia, are used in the decking.
The wave-forms will be lit with attractive LED light, giving the bridge an illuminative glow.
