My brother-in-law dutifully informed me of a half-price sale at the local Aladdin's cave camera gear store. What a great place! I got told off by Alex (the guy in the photo) for holding my camera wrongly, and then got a free corrective lesson!!! It's so refreshing to find an old style store with good service and knowledgeable people. Had to splash on some old AI lenses and a film body, and a Holga, and an SB-24. Well it was 50% off !!!!
Front of my 20x24 camera
The front standard is homemade and goes on a separate tripod. The standard takes sinar/inka/horseman lensboards, and this one is rigged up to take a homemade lens - a 500mm focal length 50mm diameter (f/10) achromatic doublet (shown). A friend was really surprised to see such a huge camera use such a small lens, but actually it seems to work very well.
