Shoes and Slippers: From Snowshill, One of the World's Leading Collections of Costume and Accessories of the 18th and 19th Centuries
This book features the unique collection of costume and accessories created by Charles Paget Wade and now held at Berrington Hall in Herefordshire. Many of the items that have been specially photographed for these books have rarely, if ever, been seen by the public because of the vulnerability of the collection. These books give access to superb shoes and hats; forthcoming books will include funky buttons and beautiful embroideries. Shoes are not only a means of conveying status, class, and persona, but also hold the hopes, dreams, and fantasies of greater delights above. Dating from the early 18th century through to the 1880s, they show how an essentially protective covering for the foot can also be a fashion statement.

Principessa Venice Beach
Big fan of this women's clothing boutique. It is a great go-to store for last minute preparation for a night on the town. They carry something for everyone and have great brands. Everything from Charlotte Ronson's chic, military looks to modern silk tunics and soft dresses by Lauren Alexander and Ella Moss. And you can cap off your clothing purchase with flats and heels by Loeffler Randall, jewelry by local designers and handbags and clutches by Rebecca Minkoff and Lorelei. FYI - there are racks of clothing that are always on sale - we love a good bargain bin.

Fashion shoes on Chapel Walk
Chapel Walk is a little walkway that joins part of the city centre to Norfolk Street with lots of little shops along its route.
It's a real juxtaposition - the sign looks modern but the buildings are fairly old in the background.
Wonder if the couple in the shot wll buy any shoes and whether the two ladies up front are on the lookout for Marco Fu?
