Noise reduction is the process of removing noise from a signal. Noise reduction techniques are conceptually very similar regardless of the signal being processed, however a priori knowledge of the characteristics of an expected signal can mean the implementations of these techniques vary greatly

Unfortunately, as I headed to probably the best known viewpoint of the Eiffel Tower, Trocadero. Paris's famed rain made its mark. Still, even with the fairly heavy rain soaking up my CPL filter, I still managed to get this fairly decent shot of the tower (will have to head back at night!).
A little history...
The Eiffel Tower (French: La Tour Eiffel, nickname La dame de fer, the Iron Lady) is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair.
The tower stands 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building. Upon its completion, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of the tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930. However, due to the addition, in 1957, of the antenna atop the Eiffel Tower, is now taller than the Chrysler Building. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France, after the Millau Viaduct.

In 2003 I was coming back to my old experiments in detection of underdense meteors and at midday that low level orbit monster observing satellites. For this I have one ht Icom R-10 as radio receiver because it?s necessary to listen the 65mHz band in cw or ssb reception. But now my home is in a high electric noise level area. Then I started to make a line filter with a roll of dc power supply feed cable around a ferrite loopstick. For my surprise I observe that when reaching some 3 or 4 turns there are a peak in signal reception with grow up the signal of telescopic antenna, and it is lower the noise coming from power suply. I think that the telescopic antenna together with the fed cable works like a dipole, enhancing radio reception. If this single device keep in horizontal position and searching in azimuth for less noise angle it is possible inside house to detect many meteors in my HT withou any external antenna. This is only to be used in amateur radio reception experiments. Tks.
