My family portrait
So what's the armoury now then? From left to right:
20mm f/2.8 USM - Weird FOV, semi-wide lens that I rarely play with, but should do ...
70-200mm f/4L IS USM - one of my newest members and the first lens to cost comfortably more than my camera body. Will take some working getting used to using, it's pretty damn long.
17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM - The ultimate ragged on lens, but one of my favourites. Purest will lament it's lack of sharpness, barrel distortion et al. But I find it does exactly what I need it to, straight out the box and my results prove it.
50mm f/1.4 USM - attached to my 40D body is the final lens a nice, more robust 50mm lens. I loved my f/1.8s but ultimately I broke three so, hopefully this one will be more solid!
430EX Speedlite - the greatest toy I ever bought would just like a 580EX II to trigger it off camera and share up lighting duties.
Alright, so they haven't all got red rings but at least they've all got gold! Next lens will probably be a replacement for the 20mm and17-85mm, possible the 17-40mm f/4L USM or more prefereably a brighter IS lens in a similar range. As for the 50m f/1.2L? Pass!
My shooting gear
I was reorganizing my dry cabinet and took out all my gear. Took this chance to shoot my current camera, lenses and flash lineup.
Wishlist:
A superzoom 400mm or 500mm for taking birds and plane photos. Probably one of the new Sigma lenses.
Maybe a wide-angle lens, like the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8
