Daisy chain layout for RS485 communication setups. With this setup, a controller keyboard can call up any individual node to communicate instructions such as Pan Tilt zoom and also control onscreen menus making on board adjustments and variations to the individual node.

Used where one or more CCTV Controllers are controlling one or more PTZ cameras.
The resitors are there to balance the 2 wire line but may not be necessary if UTP or STP cable such as CAT5 / 6 is used.

Rs485 can run up to about 1000 meters without amplification but may need a dedicated amplified after that. 1 in 4 out amplifiers are the most commonly used.

This is the camera system. The red cables go to the cameras, the green cables go to the roof to the PTZ cameras. The grey cables go to the DVR.
