the show last night was amazing! thanks to everyone that showed up. we had a line around the block the entire time, and i think some people couldn't get in (i wouldn't know, i was inside signing things for 3+ hours). a lot of people said a lot of really nice things about the work -- glad you got to see it in person.
i'm donating proceeds from the show to my college scholarship at art center. i had programs, skate decks, prints, and originals for sale, and you guys too home a lot of everything. your support will help a talented young person get through school--thank you.
for those who are interested in buying something and continuting to support the scholarship, i will have an online store open this week featuring whatever is still for sale--but remember that quantities are very limited. -m

*great success!*
the second and final night of the art show was monday. it was a private party for some friends of mine and patrons of gallery1988. a lot of original work ended up selling -- all five collaborations sold to various people, plus "smile," "new maneki," and "ace of spades."
paul wall dropped in and bought the painting "ace of spades," and i convinced him to draw me a picture. it ended up being a stick-figure self portrait, grill and pimp cup included. rob dyrdek, a freind of mine who skates for DC shoes and has a new show on MTV called "rob and big" (hilarious) bought "maneki." a big thanks to michael rappaport (who picked up some skate decks), rick rubin and my LP family, ken block, everlast, joel madden, and of course the worlds famous styles of beyond crew for showing up. i'm sure there were more people i should mention, but i can't name everyone -- thanks to everyone for coming!
photos will be up soon at gallery1988.com, and the programs and skate decks will be on sale at mikeshinoda.com. for those interested in the prints, the info and thumbnails will be there as well. portions of the proceeds go to a college scholarship at art center college of design, pasadena.
thanks for supporting the stuff! it was a fun event...i'll post more info when i have it.
