over with a clean slate. A theme no doubt inspired by the new life
that has been breathed into the band as of late.
A few recent personnel changes in the midst of trying to write and
record a new record proved challenging. But this state of
uncertainty about Realigns future only strengthened the resolve
of founding members Brandon Jamison, Ryan Jamison, and Michael
Dotsons
Their commitment to hard work and excellence has been the
cornerstone of Realigns success. With their previous record, and
extensive touring they set in place a strong foundation. Realigns
reputation for an intense, and captivating live show has landed
them on the stage with many major label acts such as Kutless,
Thousand Foot Krutch, Day of Fire, and Red.
The goal with New Wine is to expand on this foundation. In an
effort to take Their songwriting to the next level, Realign sought
out Billboard charting producer Jeremy Luzier. This collaboration
yielded a new, edgier Realign sound with more depth lyrically and
musically: an aggressive hardcore edge with an alternative touch
that speaks a message of hope in the midst of pain and suffering.
The record is set to release independently in Spring 08. And,
with the addition of new bass player, Mike Patten, and guitar
player, Chris Palmer, Realign will be hitting the road hard over
the next year, supporting what they feel is only the first of many
great Realign albums to come.
Despiste all the changing that has taken place in Realign, the
main goal remains the same: to connect with people on a real,
personal level and bring a message of hope into the lives of the
hurt and suffering.

Born in Israel, raised in South Africa and now
splitting his time between Montreal and London, Yoav
isn't quite like other singer-songwriters. He counts
Timbaland and the Neptunes as major influences and
spends as much time coaxing funky rhythms out of his
battered acoustic guitar as he does strumming it. He
won over Tori Amos' fans after supporting her on tour,
which makes sense. The songs on his debut album,
Charmed and Strange are quirky and inventive.
Listening to the dense, multilayered arrangements on
"Adore Adore" and "Club Thing," or even his ethereal
take on the Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?," you'd be
hard-pressed to believe that the whole thing was
played on that poor six-string.

theme-album ever made, having often discussed their love of Brian Wilson's
"Smile", the B-side of the Beatle's "Abbey Road" LP, Queen's "Bohemian
Rhapsody", and other uninterrupted pieces of rock music, made up of smaller
movements. We'll throw in a more recent release by The Rollo Treadway as an
example too! In the summer of 2005, Jaye demoed hundreds of lyric-less melodic
fragments, and handed it over to Ben, who added a bunch of his own melodies to
the mix, and set about the task of assembling the fragments into quasi-operatic
suites. They authored a two-act coming-of-age story about a girl named Bailey,
and Ben wove the story into enigmatic, ambiguous lyrics. Though they're rather
distinctive, clearly audible in their music are the influence of the Beatles,
Queen, Brian Wilson, David Bowie, the Zombies and other melodic and intricately
arranged pop-rock. Paying tribute to their heroes, they even mastered their
opus at Abbey Road Studios, London. "Not only the most unusual album of the
year, but one of the best!" - Nick Webb,"If you have appreciation for classical
music and theater, you will enjoy this album. It is so musically rich, there is
enough material for a dozen albums by a band with average musical talents.

and discovered while she was homeless, she went on to sell 12 million copies
of her debut, only to become the butt of countless zingers. So Perfectly
Clear, her first proper country record, should have been her true calling to
an art that's one part twang to two parts self-mythology. But the album's
biggest setback, other than the fact that its title sounds like a Neutrogena
product, is that Jewel doesn't call upon the gritty storytelling of a real
Nashville star. Co-producer John Rich of Big and Rich provides plenty of
slide guitar, banjo plucks and fiddle, but no memorable melodies. The title
track strikes a raw nerve with its slow, stripped-down arrangement. But the
album is overcrowded by placid soft-rock tunes like "Two Become One" and
"Anyone But You" with schmaltzy choruses and flavorless piano-laden verses.
Jewel contributes bland pickup-truck philosophy about relationships in cutesy
little-girl vocals that rarely show off her voice's texture (though, yes,
there's some yodeling). On "I Do," she says, "Love is a game" * one track
later, "Love Is a Garden." Even the girl-power anthem "Stronger Woman"
doesn't promise much: "I'm going to love myself more than anyone else."
Jewel, prepare to be zinged again.
