Dawn has broken! At Dr N’s. All is ready for the battle. As usual to begin with he asks me two or three canny questions of which the most serious is “how do you feel?” and then he smiles happily and says: You are much, much better! Aha! It got round me. That is because I began to write a blog. Is it? Good! Give me the address? And I gave it to him. Now it will be easy to tell him about the potential commission conclusion, because he is already ready to consider it, I think, and he says: I think that it is time for you to return slowly to work. It will be helpful to you. Certainly it is time for you to start to integrate yourself in society and normal everyday situations. Ye gods! That went like something greased! Now I will just persuade him to reduce my tablets… And he said totally off his own bat: We will halve the treatment. Now just one in the evening, skip it in the morning, so you will be brighter during the day. Incredible! Either he heard the thought, or else I am the most typical case, the possibly one in a thousand kind one would typically describe in some scientific journal … I do not know which is worse… Hmm, still something… I am still not on the ball enough to remember what the third important thing was. I scratch behind my ear, but it didn’t help at all. Yet I remember. Psychotherapy. So that he does not forestall me again I say quickly how it would help me if we start. In the end, at least a chat or two before I set off again in the world… By all means, by all means, said Dr N. and agrees to meet next week, then he sends me out of the office with a cheerful “Greet your wife!” And she was waiting like Cerberus outside the doors ready to fly at anything evil that might come through…
