You can see how the torpedo tubes were loaded on a World War II vintage submarine in this photo. A torpedo or "fish" is on the far left. In one of the open torpedo tubes, a torpedo is in the process of being loaded. It would be placed on the rollers and then using a block and tackle, pushed into the tube. When inside, the door would be closed and the tube ready for firing. Note the two counter-rotating propellers on the torpedo. This balances out the forces (propellers throw water to one side) and allows the torpedo to run in a straight track.

If you dont happen to have a 3" steel tube to form you tube around use a bit of old 3" or 75mm cast iron drainpipe ! but remember dont bash it with a hammer just pull it round by hand (need a friend to help if you cant do it on your own) as 2mm stainless is quite strong/tough stuff to bend
Also make sure to protect the surface if you do it in a vice ? you dont want nasty vice marks on your shiny new carrier !
Best still if you have use of a set of steel rollers ? would be much better
