* Drugi je nastavak imao premijeru potkraj kolovoza prošle godine na američkom Disney kanalu. Nakon što su oba filma postala unosan dokaz da klinci i dalje mogu voljeti mjuzikle, glazbenu formu za koju se govorilo da je pred izumiranjem, veliki Disneyjev hit uzdrmao je skandal s golim fotografijama glavne 18-godišnje glumice!
Malo tko je u početku istinski vjerovao u uspjeh ovog filma – zašto bi današnji klinci jurišali gledati jedan najobičniji mjuzikl, pored toliko drugih stvari na televiziji? Je li moguće da je Disney pogriješio u procjeni? Nije. 'High School Musical' jedan je od najvećih TV hitova u povijesti, namijenjen publici u ranim tinejdžerskim godinama.
No, ovih dana o filmu se u medijima piše zbog drugih razloga – činjenice da isti ti tinejdžeri znaju koristiti internet daleko bolje od svojih roditelja te da upravo preko istog tog interneta distribuiraju fotografije gole glavne glumice oba filma!
Više od sedam milijuna ljudi vidjelo je premijeru prvog dijela, a ovogodišnji nastavak oborio je rekorde brojkom od 17,2 milijuna gledatelja, postavši najgledaniji naslov u čitavoj povijesti
Ovo je prvi put da je jedan projekt u produkciji Disneyja snašao ovakav skandal, a u epicentru pažnje nalazi se Vanessa Hudgens, 18-godišnja zvijezda filmova. Zanimljivo je da je Disney vrlo brzo službeno priznao da na fotografijama nije dvojnica njihove uzdanice, već Vanessa osobno – možda s namjerom širenja publike i privlačenja nešto starijih znatiželjnika cijeloj priči, a možda zato što bi negiranje samo pogoršalo stvar.
'Fotografija je načinjena u privatne svrhe', kažu glasnogovornici, dodavši kako je žalosno da je jedna tako privatna stvar procurila u javnu sferu.

Premisa oba filma slična je šekspirijanskom 'Romeo i Julija' konceptu – sukobu dvije skupine i zabranjenoj ljubavi, uz glazbeno suparništvo izazvano pripremom srednjoškolskog mjuzikla. Rezultat je, dakle, postao toliki fenomen da je o njemu ne samo snimljen dokumentarac, već je od kolovoza ove godine u prodaji i video igra za Nindendo i Playstation.
Vanessa Hudgens, glavna zvijezda filma koju surferi sada imaju prilike upoznati i nešto 'intimnije', glumica je i pjevačica koja u tinejdžerskim filmovima glumi od 2003. godine. Svoj egzotičan izgled duguje kombinaciji filipinskih, američkih, španjolskih, indijanskih i irskih gena, a nakon što se kao osmogodišnjakinja pozabavila glumom u kazališnim mjuziklima za djecu, dobiva ugovor za reklamu, pa seli u Los Angeles, vrlo brzo dobivši priliku za ozbiljnije uloge.
Osim brojnih dječjih i teen naslova, glumila je i u kontroverznom filmu 'Thirteen', ali tek ju je uloga stidljive i pametne Gabrielle Montez u oba nastavka 'High School Musical' pretvorila u pravu zvijezdu. Nema sumnje da će je cijeli skandal s golim fotografijama transformirati u još slavniju osobu te zagarantirati lakši prelazak u produkcije namijenjene starijoj publici.
