It is one of two churches in the parish of Widcombe, the other being the much older St Thomas a Becket. Processed using Lo-Fi. Two adults and one child for the South Pool please. The ornate turnstile entrance-and-exit to Wolverhampton's Central Baths on 19th June 1985, just a few days before the Victorian built baths closed its doors to the public for the last time. How Wolverhampton Council allowed this grand old building to be demolished is beyond me. View, as it would be seen on exiting the Baths. Randall Hatch, an interior design instructor at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising taught his students a list of six items that are essential to any room. He called them the six isms of interior design. “These things are imperative to having a successfully designed room,” he said. “With these items, you are almost always guaranteed to have pleased clients.” The first item he found essential was something green. Whether it’s on a rug or a simple sconce, the green item lends a natural touch to the room. The next thing he said was imperative to achieving a professionally decorated room is something red. It compliments the green from the first item. A black item creates a contrast in colors. Next on the list is something paired. A pair of chairs will do, or it can be as simple as a pair of candle sticks. He says they add balance to the space. After a pair of items is checked off the list, something alive has to be found. This usually refers to plants. Since most plants are predominantly green, they would take care of two of the items on the list. Finally, an Asian-inspired item can be used to add interest. A room Hatch designed a year ago featured a pair of shoes with an Asian print as a design element. When looking at interiors or architecture, sometimes less is more. “The first thing we’re taught as architects,” said Eric Ea, a 23 year-old architecture major, “is to take out decorative materials. What works with architecture is a very organic look, where things are less decorative. What’s Asian-inspired is the organic look.” There are other things designers do to ensure a successful project. It is used in restaurants so patrons lose track of time and linger for a while, according to a color theory instructor at FIDM. “Lighting plays a major role in how a place is perceived,” said Peter DeMaria, an architecture instructor at PCC. “Not just artificial light, natural light as well.” Lighting should be seen as a way to improve a place. Keep in a relatively cool environment, around 68°F (21°C). Lilies thrive in reasonably moist, well-drained soil. Watering every other day should do the trick. If your lily is wrapped in foil, make sure the plant is not left standing in excess water. Remove the anthers (yellow pollen-releasing structures) from the center of the flowers. Remove individual flowers as they fade. PLANTING YOUR LILY OUTDOORS: Once the lily starts to whither, consider planting it in your garden. Keep your lily in moderate sunlight and water it when it becomes somewhat dry. When the temperature is mild enough, choose a sunny spot in your garden to plant the bulb. Make sure the spot is safe from high winds. Take the plant from its original container and loosen the roots. Plant the bulb 3-5 inches deeper than it was in its container and cover with soil. Water generously and fertilize with an all-purpose garden fertilizer. The lily's old shoots — stems — will wither and die soon after planting. Currently, we are in Easter Mode. 6. I'm actually a pretty good driver, believe it or not. 7. My neighbors on one side own horses, my neighbors on the other side breed alpacas. 8. My grandfather recently bought me a MacBook Pro, and I'm pretty sure it's the best gift anyone has every given me. I love love love it. 9. I hate the idea of those portable book devices, like the Kindle or the Nook, simply because I love the feel of a book in my hands. 10. (15) The Original Oyster House At 137 years old, The Original Oyster House is Pittsburgh's oldest bar and restaurant. Located in the heart of downtowns Market Square, near the courts and just across the river from the new stadiums, the unique tavern has been designated by the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation. The present owner, Louis J. Grippo, purchased the Oyster House in 1970. He is only the fifth proprietor of the tavern which has attracted politcians, judges, attorneys, sports figures, entertainers, newsmen and hundreds of thousands of others as customers. Since purchasing the Oyster House, Grippo has completely refurbished the exterior and interior, retaining and enhancing the best features of the bar's illustious past. When the Oyster House first opened in 1870, oysters sold for a penny and beer was 10 cents a glass. The enormous fish sandwiches, which require a special bun, were introduced by Louis Americus, who was the proprietor from 1916 to 1970. The delicous coating on the fish and oysters, a recipe of Mrs. Americus, is still utilized today by the kitchen staff. Mr. Americus was also the originator of much of the interior decor. He attended all the Miss America Pageants, returning each time with pictures of the contestants which he used to grace the wall of the tavern. It has been a favorite location for the movie industry having had 25 films shot at the location. The most recent of which are " Innocent Blood" starring Bob Loggia, "Three Rivers" starring Bruce willis, "Cemetery Club" satrring Danny Aiello and the most famous film " Night of the living Dead" written and directed by local Pittsburgh talent. It is the oldest union bar in the city, and even during the Prohibition when only buttermilk and soda were sold, union bartenders were on the job at the Oyster House. indian or turkey?
