This is not nearly as good as Toy Story Mania in 3-D but kind of follows the same idea, this "attraction" was created before the extremely popular "Toy Story Mania 3-D" at DHS and is located at Tommorrowland in the Magic Kingdom. It generally has reasonable wait times and is mildly entertaining, even for adults.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! It has been a busy time here. We are having work done inside (thus the sheet on the chair) and the house is in a state of disarray.

I thought this photo was perfect for this week because it shows Colby being his playful, little self. He loves to play tug-o-war and he loves to chase you when you have one of his toys. Once he grabs the toy, the excitement is over and he wants you to grab the toy again so the play can continue. One of his favorite play buddies is my younger daughter. They have so much fun together!!!

The time has come to unpack my figures and get them ready for display, however I haven't yet got my cabinet, i did have all these in one huge giant box, that also held alot of the display pieces that come with ML's (if your a collector you'll know what I'm referring to).

The HOT TOYS Clark Kent figure is another Limited Edition action figure released for the Superman Returns movie in 2006. It was made by the Hong Kong company HOT TOYS for their 'Movie Masterpiece' line.

Their Superman and this Clark Kent figure both have the striking resemblance to new Superman actor Brandon Routh.

The figure comes with a great black stand as you can see here. It'a always fun making Clark do familiar poses!

My parent’s grean house is stuffed full of garden tools and treasures. The sort of controlled chaos of items required to create the garden of their dreams. What is hidden from view in this photograph is all the plant starts that are on the table and floor being prepped.

My parents take pride in their yard, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to call it the best in the neighborhood. Growing up I never really put much thought into all the work it takes. But last summer my wife and I got married in their backyard. I spent much of the spring helping them prepare, building new rock walls, planting trees, weeding and laying down new dirt. It was a great excuse for my mom to get my dad to do all the improvements they had been putting off for years. It also gave me a new appreciation for gardening.

Things like this just bother me to an extreme extent, this has got to be the worst guinea pig food out there! Please if you buy this food for you pigs or food like this please stop, this can kill them!

Other then the fact that is above, that is if you can sense what it is. Okay so I hate when people buy a pet and do no research what so ever on that animal, and thats the deal with this picture! This food is a major choking hazard for guinea pigs! But the real fact of today is real short and simple, I don't own white plain socks. All my socks have cute design and bright colors! But heres a question for uins, how do you guys feel about people who buy pets and do no research what so ever and buy food they can't eat and that will eventually kill them?

Danetah Jaths of Chaari Lake village do the finest patchwork. There are two schools of embroidery in the Banni region: Lohanas of Khavada and the Jaths and Mutwas. Both traditions show strong influences of Sindh, in motifs and stitches. Jaths are believed to be immigrants of Balichistan and Lohanas from Sindh. Both the groups now differ from Baluchistan and Sindh in the Banni traditional embroidery, which is ever so refined and eye-catching.

Dhanetah and Fakirni Jaths still share an embroidery tradition of tiny Bars of a tight padded satin stitch and radiating circles of a couched stitch. Gararasia Jaths have their own embroidery style, suggesting different origins. It completely covers the background cloth in tiny cross-stitch patterns outlines in white and studded with minute mirrors. This style is unique to Kutch and Sindh.

Hachio?ji castle ruins, Hachio?ji, To?kyo?

Built in the late 1570's by the feudal warlord Hojo Ujiteru of the powerful Hojo clan, Hachioji castle was a great sprawling castle built across an entire mountaintop. Taking advantage of the steep terrain and the mountain's several deep ravines, the castle grounds originally encompassed over 500 hectares of land spreading 2 kilometres east to west and 1km north to south. Stone barricades were built in strategic positions to stall would be attackers or spies, and several wooden towers were placed atop high points to warn of oncoming forces. Hachioji castle was one of the biggest defensive structures ever built during Japan's late feudal period. The 460 metre high mountain on which the castle was built is Mount Fukasawa but it is alternatively called Shiroyama which means "castle mountain."

Hachioji castle was a shijo, a satellite castle, which was a part of the huge Hojo clan network of castles spread across the Kanto plains. From their honjo (main castle) of Odawara, the Hojo ruled what was then the Sagami province. From Hachioji castle, Hojo Ujiteru ruled the western Kanto area all the way from the southern end of Musashi province (present-day Saitama prefecture) to present day Yokohama.

When Toyotomi Hideyoshi laid siege to Odawara castle in 1590, Hojo Ujiteru, Hojo Ujimasa and Hojo Ujinao headed off to Odawara leaving Hachioji castle nearly defenceless with around 1,300 samurai. Hideyoshi had anticipated this and had sent forces under the command of the warlords Maeda Toshiie and Uesugi Kagekatsu to Hachioji castle via the mountain trails that led to the north of the castle town. Hachioji castle came under attack from 50,000 of Hideyoshi's forces on June 23rd 1590 and fell in just 5 and a half hours.
Toyotomi Hideyoshi soon defeated the Hojo at Odawara castle leading to his unification of Japan. Toyotomi Hideyoshi fearing Hojo Ujiteru for his military prowess, demanded that both Ujiteru and his older brother Ujimasa commit seppuku (ritual suicide) as a condition of a peace treaty. On July 5, 1590 the two brothers each bathed, dressed in white, and composed their death poems. They committed seppuku at Odawara castle with their brother Hojo Ujinori as their kaishakunin (the attendant to behead them). It is recorded that when it was seen that Hojo Ujinori was about to join them in suicide (junshi) upon seeing that Hojo Ujinori was "brave and stalwart, showing no sign of fear or remorse," he was stopped by the general Ii Naomasa who grabbed his hand and removed his short sword.
Hideyoshi commanded that Hachioji castle be destroyed and began spreading rumours that it was haunted by the ghosts of the slain women and children as he worried that the castle could be used against him. For centuries afterwards, the entire mountain area remained abandoned because it was believed to be haunted by the ghosts of the slain women and children. Scrolls depicting the fall of Hachioji castle recount how villagers in the area could hear the sound of galloping horses, gunshots and screaming echoing throughout the mountain's forests long after the battle had ended. Even today, on June 23rd each year, households in the nearby Motohachioji district continue to practice the grim observance of preparing blood-coloured azukimeshi (red beans cooked with rice) to remember the slain defenders of Hachioji castle.
Over the last 420 odd years the castle was eventually reclaimed by nature and although the area was designated a historical landmark in 1951, it wasn't until the 1980's during a series of excavations that the true cultural value of the ruins were realised. Excavations on the site of the castle's palace revealed a treasure trove of priceless earthenware from Korea, China and even a Venetian glassware jug from Murano Italy - something very unique in 16th century Japan, having been found in only three other locations in the country.

Excavations soon uncovered the remains of huge stone walls, as well as an eight-metre-wide road that led to a stone stairway below the castle's main gate, the remains of which can be seen today. There are a few small places where the remains of stone walls around the very top of the mountain can be seen, but little remains and much is still inaccessible.
Spears, swords, pieces of armour, arrows, tools, and hundreds of pieces of broken lacquerware have been found on the mountain. In 1993 a pit filled with the remains of banquets shed some light on the types of dishes that were served in the castle palace. Numerous wild boar, dog, deer, and pheasant bones were found together with shards of clay pottery and fine china plates - some of which were dated and signed.

Not far from the castle site are the graves of Hojo Ujiteru along with the graves of the other Hojo family members who lived at Hachioji castle. The ancient castle roads built alongside the Shiroyama River which led to the castle, and the castle's wonderfully reconstructed hikibashi bridge, which leads to the stone

Vintage Buck Rogers Ray-guns

There were no ray guns before Buck Rogers. There was no reason for any. For although tales of science fiction were not new in the late 1920s when the first Buck comic strip was published, space stories had not yet produced a popular character whose exploits and equipment could be widely or profitably marketed.

Anthony "Buck" Rogers was born in August of 1926 in an early edition of the pulp magazine, Amazing Stories. Introduced in the story "Armageddon 2419" by Philip Nowlan, Rogers was an air force officer who lapsed into a coma and awakened in the 25th century where he found America in ruins and the world dominated by Mongolians from inland China. Quickly discovering the marvels of this future world, including anti-gravity belts, rocket pistols, and space ships, Rogers and his cohorts, the lovely Wilma Deering and the intrepid scientist Dr. Huer, set out to fee the world and battle evil and injustice.

The second gun from the left is the famous XZ-31 Rocket Pistol. First introduced by Daisy in 1934, these guns were the beneficiaries of one of the most successful merchandising and sales campaigns in the history of the American toy business. Daisy began this remarkable campaign by convincing Nowlan and Calkins to redesign the hand guns, helmets, and holsters portrayed in Buck's comic adventures so that they could be exactly duplicated by Daisy. Then in February of 1934, after the Buck Rogers comic strip and radio show had developed a significant following and a strong market potential for Buck Rogers' toys, Daisy introduced their first Buck Rogers gun, the XZ-31 Rocket Pistol. Before the introduction of the XZ-31, Daisy had already convinced the J.L. Hudson department store in Detroit to make "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" their Christmas theme, and to install a large rocket ship and set of Martian figures in their toy department. Daisy then used these same props when it finally introduced its Buck Rogers gun at the prestigious American Toy Fair.

The gun on the extreme right seems to be a copy of the Sonic Ray Flashlite gun made by Norton Honer. First marketed in the mid 1950s, the Sonic Ray was very popular and it served as a model for many subsequent flashlight guns made by other companies.

In the late 1950s a variation of the English Toy Terrier was popular in Russia, called the Moscow Longhaired Toy Terrier. This type of dog became the Russkiy Toy, which now is bred with both long and short hair. It was provisionally recognised by the Federation Cynologique Internationale in 2006 as breed number 352, in the Companion and Toy Dogs Group.
The only other major kennel club in the English-speaking world to recognise the Russian Terrier is the United Kennel Club in the US.

The Russkiy Toy is small (weighing up to 3kg/) and square, with erect ears set high on the head. It is an active dog but should not be shy or aggressive. The tail is docked where docking is still legal. Coat colour is black, brown, or blue with tan, or red with no brown.

So I finished Redmption by Nathan J. Winograd. Very good book. Like seriously. If you love animals and think about them being in shelters and why can't the nation be no kill, it really opens you eyes. It is ranked as my favorite book. Tied with that is The Other End of the Leash by Patricia B. McConnell. Both are really good books. So I reccommend them.

Right now I'm reading Don't Dump the Dog by Randy Grim and I have to say, even though the book is funny and the guy makes me laugh I don't think that I will actually learn anything from his book.

*Fact of the Week*
Brittany is a freakin expert on destuffing stuff. She will have it destroyed in less than in an hour. She has one stuffed duck that took her about six monthes to finally rip and destroy. I bought her another one, but they had either stopped making them as well, or Britt had learned the technique to destroying everything. The above picture was my yet again attempt to see if I could find a stuffed toy that could withstand her jaws. It looked sturdy but as you can see. It wasn't.

She does have some Wubba's (a water and normal one) but she doesn't like those as much as destroying stuffed toys.

"Hey, Skids, Are We Even IN this Movie?"

I feel kinda bad about the fact that Skids and Mudflap have had their scenes cut from Dark of the Moon, mostly because they would have died. Not that I think they were that bad of characters to deserve to die, but they would have died heroically, and I'm always a sucker for that sort of thing. Anyway, on to the figures. They... aren't very good. In fact, the only reason I got them was because Toys'R'Us was having a Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Off sale, so I figures that they were worth $5.00 apiece, and taking that into account, I was right. But just barely. To explain, both of them are short, standing barely taller than a Cyberverse Commander figure, and both of them have parts that just *do not* want to stay attached while you are transforming them (Skids's right arm and Mudflap's windshield.) To add to the lack of appeal, neither of them has light piping for their eyes. In fairness, though, I do have to admit that I like these better than their Revenge of the Fallen figures, though, so take that for what it's worth.

I saw this a target for 21.99 and thought "hmm maybe next time" apparently "next time" means down the street 3 minutes later, on sale at toys r us for 17.99 got him and Rampage for a total of 30.00 wich also scored me a 10 dollar gift card with purchase.

Let's hear it for self control..YAY!

This is an incredibly crappy photo, but use your imagination. The sign says "Please Do Not Climb on Fence." These kids were not only climbing up the fence, they were sitting and running around on top of it. (There's a horizontal section, like the top of a cage.) When they saw me on the bike path with my cameraphone, one of them yelled "You can't take our picture." I yelled back as I rode away, "Sure I can. In fact I'm going to post it up on the web for the whole world to see!" I only wish I'd taken the time to get off my bike and get closer for a better photo.
